Why go, and how to do it well
Come here when you're tired of bar food. Roughly half the place is stalls cooking Thai street standards, grilled and fried, plus sushi at 10 baht a piece and grilled salmon satay around 50. The other half sells clothes, shoes, bags, toys and the usual accessories. There's a Greek stall doing yiros, pizza somewhere in the mix, fresh fruit, cold beer and coconuts, so a group that can't agree on dinner will manage fine here.
People keep mentioning the layout, which is clean, organized and easy to walk. Solid concrete tables fill the open middle for anyone eating takeout, and behind the stalls there are proper sit-down restaurants with their own service if you'd rather order and wait. It sits in a residential pocket rather than on a tourist strip, which keeps the pace slower than the big central markets, though it can still get crowded and the odd late-night scuffle isn't unheard of.

Good night market on Pratamak Soi 6. A lot of farang food, but also lots of Thai & other cuisines e.g. Greek. Plus lots of market stalls selling clothes & shoes & bags & toys. Also has lots of solid concrete tables to eat on in the open middle area. Plus if you want a more traditional sit down restaurant to serve you, there are also lots of those just behind the stalls. I ate a Yiros from the Greek stall tonight & it was delicious. It can be busy & I saw a fight tonight (on a Wednesday) which wasn't great. Have previously had Thai & Rissian food here, and the food has always been cheap & decent.
Nice quiet market tucked away in a residential area. Good selection of food stands for take-away. Common seating area to eat. There are also self-contained restaurants with seating. Half is food and the other half has shops selling various clothing, bags and accessories. Large free parking lot as well
