Khrua Ban Por Ta
Tucked along Soi Phatthaya Tai 8, a short distance from Pattaya's main tourist strip, this well-regarded local seafood restaurant draws a loyal following of residents and visitors alike who prioritise fresh, authentically prepared Thai food over more tourist-facing alternatives. The kitchen specialises in seafood, with grilled fish, prawns, and a broad selection of classic Thai dishes cooked to order. Flavours lean toward traditional Thai profiles — including notes of sweetness that some diners may find pronounced — though dipping sauces served on the side offer a useful balance. The setting is open, airy, and unpretentious, with spacious seating and ample car parking, making it a practical choice for those arriving by vehicle or rental car. Staff are consistently noted for being friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and neighbourhood-style rather than polished. Portions tend toward the modest side, so groups are better served by ordering a range of dishes to share, which suits the restaurant's style well. Khrua Ban Por Ta is open seven days a week from 09:00 to 21:00, covering both lunch and dinner. Food prices are considered reasonable by visitors, and reservations are available — worth arranging in advance for larger groups or during busier periods. Those travelling without a vehicle should factor in the slightly off-centre location when planning their visit.

Visitor Reviews
One of the best local seafood restaurants around! The food is super tasty and freshly cooked — you can really taste the freshness from the sea. The menu has a great variety, from grilled fish and prawns to spicy seafood salads and crab dishes. Everything comes out fast, and the staff are friendly and efficient. The prices are very reasonable for the quality you get, and there’s a lot of parking space, which makes it easy to come with friends or family. Perfect place for a relaxed seafood meal that feels truly local. Highly recommended!
This was our second time here. I can't say enough about how delicious the food was, as well as being very reasonably priced. It's a bit out of the way from the tourist spots in Pattaya but we'll worth a visit
A restaurant with an open and airy atmosphere, plenty of seating, and spacious parking. The staff provides good service. Overall, the food is tasty and clean, though the portions aren’t very large. We even ordered two plates of the squid in black ink!

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
