RYB Hostel Phuket
Located on Ranong Road in the heart of Phuket Town, this budget hostel offers a convenient base for travellers looking to explore the city on foot. The central position is a genuine highlight, with guests noting that most local attractions, restaurants, and amenities are easily walkable from the front door. The staff receive consistent praise for their helpfulness and willingness to accommodate requests such as early check-in. Rooms are simple and compact, as expected at this price point. The hostel offers both fan-cooled and air-conditioned room options, and the choice between them makes a meaningful difference to the overall experience — particularly given Phuket's heat and humidity. Fan rooms have drawn criticism for being stuffy and warm, especially since windows open onto interior hallways rather than the outside. The property has a small outdoor seating area where guests can relax. Travellers should pay close attention to room type when booking. If heat sensitivity is a concern, opting for an air-conditioned room is strongly advisable, and it is worth confirming what is included in the rate before arrival to avoid unexpected charges. This hostel suits budget-conscious travellers who prioritise location and a friendly atmosphere over space or amenities, and who plan to spend most of their time out exploring rather than in their room. Direct bookings can be made through the property's own website.

Visitor Reviews
Stuff here are the best! They care a lot to make my staying as comfortable as possible! Great location, you can walk everywhere. Really recommend to stay here:)
A really cute and affordable stay They let us do an early check-in as it was a weekend! Had clean rooms though can get stuffy as the windows open up directly to hallway There is a space outside to sit and relax with a lot of greenary Good place to stay
It would be a way better place if not the room we chose We stayed in January in the cheapest room: Fan room (non-AC). The room I would rate as 2/5. Although normally in Thailand we stay at the places without AC, here just fan wasn’t really helping. It was too hot and no fresh air as there was no window. And the room is extremely small Instead it’s better to stay in the double room (not with shared bathroom). That one looked way better and had a direct exit to a garden. Although it might be expensive Washing machines are not working but there is a place to dry your clothes after washing them at the nearby laundry (5-7mins walking) The hostel itself is nice especially the garden and kitchen (which is rare to have)! The kitchen has fridge, stove, cooking utensils, water, etc. The receptionist is lovely :)
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
