Khao Rang Viewpoint

Half an hour is about right here. You drive up the hill, you get a wide look over Phuket Town and out to the coast on both sides of the island, you take your photos, you leave. It's free, there's plenty of parking, and it's rarely busy. That last part matters more than people expect on this island.

Two things to set your expectations. The grounds are scruffy in places and reviewers keep saying the same thing about the upkeep, so come for the view rather than the park. And there are wild monkeys, plenty of them. They're not usually aggressive, but don't walk around with food, sunglasses or anything loose in your hand. Assume anything you're carrying is fair game.

There's coffee on site, which makes it easy to sit for a bit and enjoy the breeze. I'd go early morning or late afternoon, partly for the light and partly because there's not much shade when the sun is overhead. If you're already doing Phuket Town for the day, it slots in neatly. I wouldn't build a trip around it.
