La Marée restaurant
Tucked along Lagoon Road in Cherngtalay, this stylish restaurant brings a distinctly European sensibility to the northern Phuket dining scene. The menu leans French and Mediterranean, with standout dishes including French oysters, shrimp risotto, and eggplant parmesan, alongside lighter options such as avocado with scrambled eggs. The wine list and cocktail selection receive consistent praise from visitors, making it a solid choice for those looking to pair a well-considered drink with their meal. The setting strikes a balance between bright, contemporary design and a relaxed beach-adjacent atmosphere. Diners can choose between indoor and outdoor seating, with a mezzanine level that suits larger groups or private gatherings. Service is frequently highlighted in visitor feedback as attentive and genuinely warm, contributing to the overall sense that care goes into the dining experience here. The restaurant draws a mixed crowd of residents and travellers staying in the Laguna and Bang Tao area. Good to know: Specific opening hours are not currently listed online, so contacting the restaurant directly before visiting is advisable, particularly if planning an evening meal during peak tourist season. The Cherngtalay location on Lagoon Road is most convenient for those based in north Phuket, within easy reach of Bang Tao Beach and the Laguna resort complex. The mezzanine seating area is worth requesting for groups.

Visitor Reviews
Looks bright and stylish. I cannot pass by without making another photo of the bears 🥰 Great choice of food and sitting inside or outside. They also have a mezzanine floor that is great for gatherings or larger groups.
So delicious, the dishes the best. I prefer avocado and scrambled eggs, everything is so fresh and tasty. Highly recommend
This is an excellent place to have a dinner at Bang Tao beach. Service is spectacular - the waitress was incredibly attentive and friendly, and the food is delicious with very good presentation. Wine list is quite extensive and reasonably priced. They were also very careful and attentive with my dietary requirements. This place feels like a little European restaurant in the middle of the tropics and we will definitely be back again.
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
