Zazen Boutique Resort sits directly on the beach at Bo Put on Koh Samui's quieter north shore, combining a lush tropical garden setting with stylish accommodation, a spa, outdoor pool, restaurant, and beach bar all in one property. The resort draws visitors not only as a place to stay but also as a dining and spa destination in its own right, with guests frequently noting the beautifully maintained gardens and the sense of a private, exclusive beachfront atmosphere.
The restaurant and beach bar are a highlight, serving food that visitors describe as good quality within an impressive garden setting. The spa receives consistent praise for professional therapists and a genuinely relaxing atmosphere. As a boutique property, the resort places emphasis on detail and presentation throughout, from the entrance gardens to the guest experience — though some visitors note that the overall pricing sits at the higher end and should be factored into expectations before booking.
Those considering a visit should be aware that Zazen works well as both an overnight stay and a standalone dining or spa visit, making it a flexible option depending on budget. Booking accommodation or spa treatments in advance is advisable, particularly during Koh Samui's peak season between December and April. The resort's website at samuizazen.com carries current menu, spa, and room information.

Zazen omg it’s amazing.Koh Samui must do ! This venue came highly recommended to us and it lived up to all expectations. On walking in through the magnificent gardens to the restaurant you are met by the most attentive staff .You will be captivated by the restaurant which is absolutely gorgeous. We had a table on the waterfront it was magnificent. We chose the seafood banquet omg to die for ….yes it was so fresh ,delicious and the presentation (see pics ) The wine list was extensive as well ,we chose a Pinot Grigio from Italy paired beautifully. Dessert was amazing Zazen has absolutely nailed it …the attention to detail, the food choices ,the atmosphere and the decor which I believe was updated maybe a year ago. I found the staff to be so engaging and happy to help with dietary requirements and above all very attentive without over doing it Not forgetting the incredible backdrop This would be an amazing venue for a function On another note I was fortunate to have their Signature Aromatherapy massage let me tell you if you can just do it !!!! Bliss so professional One last thing the gift shop was great for those last minute gifts for home
We had the best time at Zazen Resort which is absolutely exceptional. The setting is stunning, with lush tropical gardens beautifully maintained and a peaceful beachfront that feels private and exclusive. The villas are spacious, tastefully decorated, and offering the perfect balance between luxury and comfort. The staff was also incredibly kind, attentive, and always smiling, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The restaurant is another highlight. We really enjoyed the delicious food whether for breakfast, lunch, or for the theme dinner nights by the sea. We loved to chill by the pool and the beach all day and enjoy the amazing food and beautiful setting !
This place is “nice” but we felt it was not very good value for the money. Everything is overpriced. The food is good, but overpriced. The staff is very nice and they do a great job- but it feels a bit forced. The clientele feels stodgy, reserved and snobby. The pictures of the room look better than in person. The “beach” is mostly a loading zone for tourist speed boats. You can’t really walk anywhere. Other than that sure I guess it was ok.
