Cielo

4.6(308 reviews)

Nestled in the Bophut area of Koh Samui, Cielo is a boutique hotel offering direct beach access alongside a curated selection of accommodations that range from spacious rooms to multi-bedroom villas with private pools. The property carries a refined, intimate feel, with interiors described by guests as tastefully decorated in sandy and natural tones. Family groups and couples alike have found the villa layout particularly well-suited for longer stays, with generous living spaces and good-sized private pools. The on-site restaurant draws consistent praise, with breakfast served directly to guests rather than buffet-style, adding to the personalised character of the property. Staff responsiveness is frequently noted, including assistance with airport transfers and pre-arrival arrangements, which reflects the attentive, high-end approach the hotel aims to deliver. The overall atmosphere leans toward quiet luxury rather than a large resort experience, making it better suited to travellers seeking something boutique and unhurried. Prospective guests should review room and villa categories carefully before booking, as the property's layout and inclusions vary between accommodation types. Checking directly with the hotel via their website at cielosamui.com is recommended for tailored advice on villa options, airport transfers, and availability, particularly during peak holiday periods when the property tends to attract families and couples looking for a relaxed, higher-end Koh Samui base.

Visitor Reviews

We had a fabulous stay at Cielo in Koh Samui. In booking ahead, they were super responsive, helped arranged taxi from the airport etc. the place is very boutique and would consider high end. The rooms are stylish and super comfy. Lovely touches like the bar fridge is all free on the first day. The pool is amazing and I have to say the pool beds are the best we have ever had. They have very comfy bed beanbags on the beach. The food like the place is high end too. Not typical Thai prices however once you’ve eaten there you understand why. Every meal we had there was superb, high quality ingredients, generous in portion and presented beautifully. And finally huge call out to all the staff who work there - they really make the place and super friendly and can’t do enough for you. Highly recommend this place and if I was here again, I would stay here again.

We came to stay over Christmas 2025. We spent a few days in BKK and headed for Samui. We all (my wife and 2 teenage children) thought Cielo was wonderful. We had a 3 room villa which featured its own pool, lounge area and kitchen. The design, layout and general ambiance was great. Cielo has found the perfect balance of laid back luxury. The team were amazing - always there and attentive without being overbearing. The food was very good and a good mix of cuisines to ensure everyone in our group had something to choose from. The wine selection was also good. A 10 min walk gets you to the busier stretch of beach/restaurants/ markets/bars. We did this on a couple of nights and spent a couple of nights chilling at Cielo. Thanks the Cielo team for looking after us.

Cielo is a little gem on Koh Samui. I loved its intimate atmosphere in sandy and rope tones. Each room is spacious, decorated with a lot of taste, and some even have a private pool. I appreciated the little lush garden in front of each room. The hotel is run by people from Saint-Tropez, and you can feel it even in the restaurant menu. There was no TV in my room, which I found positive: it encourages people to go out. The breakfast isn’t a buffet but a well-thought-out option that avoids waste. The beach, though short with slightly coarse sand, is still pleasant. Lastly, a big thank you to Goody, who took great care of us, booking everything we needed. A lovely experience I would recommend

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts

Book Shoulder Season

May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates

Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive

Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
