Eight spaces boutique hotel

4.5(38 reviews)

Tucked away in the Tambon Maret area of Koh Samui, Eight Spaces Boutique Hotel is a small, well-maintained property offering a calm and private alternative to the island's busier resort strips. With only eight rooms, the hotel maintains a genuinely intimate atmosphere — guests consistently note how quiet both the building and surrounding neighbourhood are, making it an appealing choice for those seeking rest over resort-style activity. The property also features spa facilities, adding a further layer of comfort for longer stays.

The rooms are described by guests as modern and exceptionally clean, with the property itself kept in stylish condition throughout. A small pool is available on-site and is maintained to a high standard. The owner, Ofeer, is frequently praised for being responsive and friendly, handling any issues promptly — a quality that stands out in guest feedback. The hotel has attracted a number of long-term guests who have stayed for weeks or even months at a time, suggesting it offers good value and a homely environment alongside its boutique credentials.

Those considering a longer stay will find Eight Spaces particularly well suited to that purpose, with its peaceful location placing it just a short distance from local amenities. Prospective guests should note that no website is currently listed, so reaching out through booking platforms or direct contact is advisable when making reservations. The hotel appears to suit independent travellers and those looking to slow down rather than guests in search of a lively social scene.

I stayed here for 9 months this year, it's very suitable and affordable for long term stays. It's very quiet in the building and the neighborhood, only 8 rooms and I barely noticed or heard anyone else. All the rooms are about the same, just which way you look out on your balcony. You can also go to the roof and look at the ocean or barbecue. It's about 5 minute walk to a very quiet, beach, and just 5 minutes or so drive into Lamai. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and probably the best coffee on the island at 1% Coffee, which is a 2 minute walk. There's a Cafe KOB, Tops and 7/11 close by as well. I had Makro and Lotus deliver my food/water which was easy to do, or got Grab/7/11 deliveries. Room is cleaned weekly and sheets are changed by a nice, trustworthy staff member. Kitchen and room are small but functional, pool is good for cooling off. The manager was very easy going, helpful and provided my deposit back in full at the end of my stay. Its' also easy to get to the south and west side of the island which is the quiet part. If you are looking for a quiet place to chill, this is the place!

I have been staying here for a month soon. The apartment has been even better than i expected. Staying here has been really nice and it has felt like home. I like the peaceful location of it. Just 2-3 minutes with motorbike and you’re in the middle of Lamai restaurants and the beach. The host Ofeer has also been very nice and helpful. I can highly recommend.

The Good and the Bad: The rooms are very modern and clean although I think that it's time to replace some of the linens as they are stained and frayed. The cleaning people came once p/week do a very nice job. The location is quite and there was a nice balcony to sit on and had a pretty good view. The pool was very nice, always clean and sparkling clear water The Bad: I stayed two months but the room wasn't set up very well for a long stay as advertised. There is a microwave and nice size refrigerator but no cook top or toaster. The dishes and utensils were also very limited. When they cleaned they only left one bath towel, one hand towel and not towel for the kitchenette sink area I had to buy my own. It would have been nice to be able to fry a couple eggs and have toast in the mornings. Yes, the location was quiet but out of the way. It's necessary to have your own transportation because getting Grabs can sometimes be difficult and boy, are they expensive on Koh Samui. The little red Tuk Tuk trucks that are available on the island pretty much see a tourist and dollar signs at the same time. most often they charge more than what it costs for a Grab motorbike. The "Deal Breaker and worst thing was the extremely high electric costs. Impossibly high! I was quoted 1500 bath on the high side for the month but it was nearly double that. And I don't believe for a minute that the cost of power for that one room could have used the quantity of power units I was being told. They charge 8 bath per unit and the power company rates from what I was able to research is a little over 4 baht. It just seems a bit ridiculous to ruin a reputation due to over charging for electricity and because of that I wouldn't suggest it as a stay. If you do, take a picture with YOUR PHONE, YOURSELF of the meter at check in and when bill is due and or at check out. Something isn't right. It's impossible for a room that size to use that many power units even if the a/c is running 24/7. The last thing, in many of the other reviews, they spoke about a hot tempered Host, well I heard the yelling and could tell he's always on the verge of exploding. Be careful.
