Lamai Viewpoint & Heart Stone

The pull here is a naturally heart-shaped rock sitting on a hillside above Maret, with Buddhist shrines around it and the coastline spread out below. It's a photo stop, and there's no point pretending otherwise. But it's a good one, and the setting does more work than the rock itself: you get proper elevation, an inland view most people miss while they're lying on Lamai beach, and a quieter, more contemplative mood than anything down at sea level.

I'd give it an hour, not an afternoon. Pair it with something else inland rather than making the drive for this alone. Late afternoon is when the light works best, both on the stone and across the water, and it's cooler for the walking. If you're after temples with depth and history, this isn't that. If you want a scenic break from the shore with a bit of local spirituality attached, it does the job well.
