Situated on Ratchamanka Road in the heart of Chiang Mai's historic Old Town, this upmarket boutique hotel offers refined suites designed for comfort and style. The property is particularly noted for its beautiful outdoor spaces, including a gorgeous pool that guests frequently highlight, as well as a spa and on-site restaurant. The combination of elegant surroundings and an exceptionally attentive staff has made it a standout choice for both leisure travellers and couples, including those celebrating special occasions such as honeymoons.

Rooms are consistently described by guests as spacious, quiet, and well-equipped with quality amenities, and the hotel's night-time exterior lighting adds a distinctive atmospheric touch. The location is highly walkable, placing guests within easy reach of Old Town temples, markets, and local dining, while also being convenient for arranging day trips by hired driver to surrounding attractions.

For those planning a stay, it is worth noting that the hotel operates around the clock, making it accommodating for varied arrival and departure times. Booking directly through the hotel website at thechiangmai.com/oldtown may offer the best availability for specific room types, particularly the honeymoon suite, which tends to attract strong demand. Reviews from Google

The hotel is really pretty from the outside at night with the lighting. Aside from the birds chirping in the morning, and the occasional dogs barking, and some of the vehicles outside, it's super quiet. The service is excellent. When we first arrived, they grabbed our luggage right away to bring to our room. Chang, our butler, was really helpful and patient. We used their half day private driver and Tony was awesome. He acted like a tour guide by filling us in on things around the city. He even helped us when we were ordering food to go at the end of the trip - it was a small gesture but it went a long way since the restaurant was a little out of the way, added more time to the itinerary, etc. Enjoyed the beverages and snacks available in their lobby area. The rooms were a good size. The materials of the room were top notch. The cabinets were soft closing which is a nice touch. There is a fridge and freezer in case you also want to store anything. The lighting in the room created a cozy and intimate environment, so if you're looking for something bright and well lit, you'll need to reset expectations. Unfortunately, our room had mosquitoes that ate us up. Not sure how they entered our room since it was tucked far in the corner of the hotel and we never opened any windows or doors that would let them inside. The biggest downside was the location. Albeit it being within the old city, it was far from all of the action. Can Taxi/Grab anywhere, but it would have been nice to be more centrally located within the Old City. They claim to have a gym but calling it that is very misleading! Never used the pool but the waters looked very clear and clean. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful property and I really want this business to do well and succeed.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It has a beautiful outdoor area, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the great weather. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, and the amenities felt higher-end than expected. We also appreciated the complimentary snacks available at the front desk. The service was excellent—everyone was welcoming, friendly, and consistently helpful. The location was another highlight: close enough and within walking distance of most temples, yet just far enough from the main area to avoid noise and maintain a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Has a lot of potential — there are just a few areas that could be improved. At the moment, I’d say it just about qualifies as a five-star hotel, and that’s mainly thanks to the incredible service from the reception team. The hotel is very clean, the pool is lovely, and the gym is fine for basic maintenance. They also provide towels and free water bottles, which is a nice touch. I didn’t get the chance to try the spa, as it was fully booked when I walked in. Some of the rooms feel a little dark, but the overall finish is high quality, everything is spotless, and the bed was extremely comfortable. In terms of improvements, the rooms could offer a better selection of snacks (although that probably did me a favour as I’m on a diet). The bath bombs weren’t great in my experience, and surprisingly there were no pens in the room — only a thick pencil, and reception said they don’t provide pens. Finally, the restaurant food was average, and the breakfast didn’t look particularly special. I’d expect a bit more from a five-star property, although it still does the job. Overall, the location is amazing, the staff are excellent, and the hotel is clean and comfortable. I’d definitely come back if I stayed in Chiang Mai again.
