Rachamankha Boutique Hotel

4.7(435 reviews)$$$$

Tucked within the historic walled city of Chiang Mai, Rachamankha is a heritage boutique hotel that draws on traditional Lanna and regional architectural influences to create an atmosphere of quiet, cultured elegance. Small by design, the property offers an intimate experience that larger hotels rarely match, with beautifully maintained garden courtyards, carefully appointed rooms, and a sense of place that feels genuinely rooted in northern Thai culture.

Guests can expect attentive, anticipatory service that consistently earns praise from visitors — staff are frequently noted for going well beyond the expected, from assisting with last-minute dining reservations to ensuring every detail of a stay is handled with care. The hotel's restaurant is a highlight in its own right, serving fine Thai cuisine in a courtyard setting that works equally well for breakfast or an evening meal. The overall atmosphere is serene and unhurried, making it particularly well suited to travellers seeking a restful, characterful base rather than a high-volume resort experience.

Practically speaking, Rachamankha's location on Soi Ratchamanka 9 places guests within easy walking distance of the old city's temples, markets, and cultural landmarks. Given the hotel's small size and strong reputation, rooms book out well in advance, especially during Chiang Mai's peak cool-season months from November through February. Booking directly through the hotel's website is advisable to secure preferred room types.

Reviews from Google

We had a lovely stay here, I don’t normally write many reviews but this hotel went above and beyond for us. The hotel itself is beautiful and clearly very well cared for, the garden areas are pretty and it’s a very quiet, peaceful area to stay. The reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable on day visits and helped us to organize multiple trips to surrounding areas. The breakfast was delicious each morning and the staff working in the restaurant really impressed us, their level of service and professionalism was amazing and they were never far away if you needed anything. I’d love to thank the two waiters that were helping me to correct my Thai as I’m attempting to learn, it was a good laugh trying to say something they could actually understand and I really appreciate their help! As a whole, the hotel location is convenient, swimming pool is well maintained, food is delicious as well as the cocktails, and I’d definitely happily return in the future! Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome.

We stayed at Rachamankha for 3 nights and from the moment we stepped foot in this architectural paradise the experience was out of the world. The staff were somehow always three steps ahead, ready to take our bags, bring us waters, take our laundry, bring us food. The breakfast was sensational, with the included à la carte items all top notch. We absolutely loved our stay and cannot say enough good things about this incredible and historic establishment. Thank you to the hotel and staff

We have always loved Rachamankha, and still do. It’s a beautiful heritage hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai and it is a small hotel, which we love. The staff are fantastic and service is great. However, parts of the hotel and rooms feel a bit tired and in need of some attention and the pool area doesn’t seem to be as beautiful as it has been in the past. But we love this hotel!
