The Vorra Spa at The Chiang Mai OLD TOWN Hotel
Tucked inside The Chiang Mai OLD TOWN Hotel on Ratchamanka Road, this spa sits within the historic walled city, making it a natural stop for travellers exploring the Old Town's temples and cultural landmarks. It operates at a higher price point than street-side massage shops, but guests consistently note the difference in setting, professionalism, and attention to detail justifies the cost. Treatments centre on traditional Thai massage and herbal therapies, with sessions often beginning with a foot scrub in warm water and slippers provided on arrival. Guests have highlighted the warmth and skill of individual therapists, the availability of the hotel pool between treatments, and thoughtful finishing touches such as a fresh flower placed in the hair after massage. The environment is described as beautiful and calm, with staff who make visitors feel genuinely cared for throughout their time there. As opening hours and pricing are not listed online, contacting the hotel directly before visiting is strongly recommended, particularly during Chiang Mai's peak tourist season between November and February when demand for quality spa experiences rises. The Ratchamanka Road address is easily walkable from the Old Town's main temples and the Saturday Walking Street, making it straightforward to pair a treatment with a broader day of cultural sightseeing.

Visitor Reviews
One of the VERY best experiences ever in a Spa. You are so well taken care of and respected from the moment you walk in. Your feet are scrubbed in a bowl of warm water where you then slip on slippers and are escorted to your room. I was able to be in a couple’s room with my husband and it was such a special treat. I opted for the Aromatherapy Massage; it was gently as requested, but she massaged all of the spots, even some I never knew I needed! She braided my hair and tied it back when she sat me up to rub my back in a seated position, and she combed my hair. Wow. It was finished with a cup of warm tea and sesame rice biscuits with cashews and honey. From Start to finish this was a top notch experience and if you’re at The Chiang Mai Old Town as a guest for 2+ nights a 2-hour session is complimentary and it’s hard to believe it is. A MUST visit if you’re from the States and want a truly memorable, relaxing experience. And I highly recommend the hotel; the hospitality is top notch, the rooms are beautiful and spacious, the food here is excellent, the staff is so helpful and always smiling. Cannot say enough amazing things!!!
Fantastic spa. It’s more expensive than the street for a reason, it is absolutely beautiful and so professional. Me and my fiance both had a 90 mins massage each (together), I had a Thai massage with Pin and Kerry had an aromatherapy massage with Aed. We were both totally satisfied afterwards. Kerry even got her hair braided throughout (see pics), and even that looked like it had been done in a hair salon. Hot tea and rice cakes afterwards also.
I had a great experience here today. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, I could use the pool while I waited for my massage and the massage that I got from Pin was super relaxing! I can only recommend!
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
