Compare prices
Tucked along Prapokklao Road Soi 7 in the Phra Sing district, this hostel stands out in Chiang Mai's crowded accommodation scene through a combination of considered design, genuine cleanliness, and attentive staff. The space feels as though it was conceived by someone who has stayed in many hostels and set out to solve every common complaint — from well-designed dorm beds fitted with noise-blocking curtains to common areas that actually invite guests to linger. Visitors can expect dorms and shared bathrooms kept to a high standard of cleanliness, a small pool, and a welcoming atmosphere that strikes a balance between social and relaxed. A complimentary breakfast is included, with guests able to choose one meal and one drink from a menu each morning — a practical touch that helps keep daily costs down. Staff are consistently noted for being friendly and genuinely helpful, and the hostel maintains a binder of local activity and restaurant recommendations for those planning day trips or exploring the city. Angmo Hostel by Amaka is a strong fit for solo travellers and budget-conscious visitors who still want comfortable, well-maintained surroundings. As a smaller property with a good reputation, beds can fill quickly during Chiang Mai's peak season between November and February, so booking in advance is advisable.

Beautiful hostel and so chilled! So fresh and spotlessly clean, with lovely rooms. I honestly can’t get over how comfortable the beds are. The curtains are amazing too, they block out so much noise and act like blackout curtains, which makes it so easy to get a great night’s sleep. The showers are great, really powerful and can get nice and hot! You can also request a fresh clean towel every day. The facilities and services are really helpful too, including laundry and an ironing board. The staff are absolutely lovely and so helpful with anything you need, from general tips to booking tours and days out. It was my friend’s birthday why we were here and was able to make it super special! There’s a free hot, freshly made breakfast every morning, plus a free drink with loads of options to choose from. I don’t even drink coffee, but I’ve been converted to a caramel latte every morning. Perfect location just a short walk to main streets and Shops. Would highly recommend this hostel and I’ll definitely be back again!
Hands down the best hostel I have ever stayed at. Everything was so thoughtfully planned and designed. Clean, stunning design, great common areas and a small pool. The beds/dorms are extremely clean, beds comfortable, curtains black out all light and they provide a towel. Bathrooms also very clean! Amazing breakfast that is included in your stay - and includes a drink (latte, cappuccino, chai etc). So impressed with the quality for the price that I paid. Lastly, the staff could not have been kinder. Genuinely want to help and hear about your day and make suggestions on what to do/sites to see. They helped us book our slow boat to Laos and a Muay Thai fight in Chiang Mai. I have stayed in probably 50 hostels and this is by far the best one I have ever stayed in.
The rooms and bed were good and they did a good job keeping it clean. Toilets and showers as well. The staff was amazingly kind and helpful. They have a binder full of activities and reccomendations that are very helpful. Also you get free breakfast at the hostel which you choose from a menu. They have a mix of Thai cuisine and more western and the portions are actually very decent. The location is really good, its like a 5 minute walk to the gate market and you have a little bit of everything (restaurants, massages and else) close by. The best thing is how easy it was to meet other people at the hostel. I made friends who I will keep in touch with for a long time here.
