Being across the water from the main city sounds like a problem and isn't. The hotel runs its own teak shuttle boats over to Saphan Taksin BTS, which turns the commute into the nicest ten minutes of your day. Afternoon tea in the colonnaded lobby has been a Bangkok fixture for years, and the three-tiered pool along the river is the one you've probably seen photographed. Service is the real reason people come back and pay again.
