Hua Hin Beach

4.2(7,136 reviews)

Shallow water is the selling point here. It stays wadeable for something like 100 metres out, which makes this a beach for families, nervous swimmers and anyone who just wants to stand in the sea with a drink waiting on the sand. The sand itself is pale and a bit coarse, and there are big rocks scattered through the shallows that people climb onto to sunbathe. That's the image most people take home.

Set your expectations properly, though. There's litter in places, and the restaurants attached to the hotels along the front charge hotel prices. Walk five minutes inland instead and you'll find dozens of places to eat and drink for less. Loungers are for hire, water sports are around, and after dark the beach itself goes quiet while the town doesn't. It's convenient and pleasant rather than remote and pristine, and it's honest about that.

Reviews from Google

In December high tide in some areas can come right up to the seawall so if you’re like us and like to walk on the beach, pick your time and check the weather app to know tidal times. We visited in time for the jazz festival which turned out to be a spectacular evening at the beach.

Nice beach for swimming. Solid 4 out of 5. Not deep for at least 100 meters /300 feet in, so any beginner or kids will love it. Sand is pretty white , slightly course. The rocks randomly speckled in the water add a great feel and ambiance. Not a lot of eating or sun beds places at this spot that I could see but you can walk 5 mins inland and there are dozens of restaurants and bars. Deed quiet after dark.

This isn't a particularly great beach it's just okay. Bit of litter around. I was there early in the morning and parking my moto was easy but I don't know what that would be like at busy times. There was no entrance fee or parking fee. There's souvenir vendors at the entrance i used, they also had food stalls but they weren't open in the morning

Tips for Visiting Beaches

Check Monsoon Windows

Andaman coast beaches (Phuket, Krabi) have rough seas May–October. Gulf beaches (Samui, Hua Hin) are roughest October–December. Plan your beach trip around these windows for calm water and safe swimming.

Go Early for Empty Sand

Even the busiest beaches are nearly deserted before 9 AM. Sunrise walks on Kata, Chaweng, or Railay are magical — and you'll beat the heat for a morning swim.

Use Reef-Safe Sunscreen

Many Thai marine parks ban chemical sunscreens that damage coral. Bring reef-safe (mineral/zinc-based) sunscreen from home — it's harder to find and pricier in Thailand.
