Doors don't open until 22:30, and that tells you everything about what this place is for. It's a club, not a bar, and it doesn't really wake up until after midnight, when the compact rooms fill and the two or three DJs each work their own corner. Air-conditioned, cold beer, a crowd that's already committed to the idea of another few hours. If you want a quiet drink and a chat, go somewhere else on the soi and come here later, if at all.

The complaints in the reviews are worth taking seriously, and they're all about the door. Several people describe the bouncers as rude and heavy-handed, ejecting people without explanation. One traveller was made to hand over an umbrella at the entrance, was told it would be looked after, and never saw it again. So keep everything on you, don't hand your bag to anyone, and don't get into an argument with the guys on the door.
