San Kamphaeng Hot Springs
Situated in Mae On District, roughly 30 kilometres east of Chiang Mai, San Kamphaeng Hot Springs is a well-maintained geothermal park that offers considerably more than a simple soaking experience. The site centres on natural mineral-rich springs, including a jet fountain that shoots boiling water continuously and pools hot enough to cook eggs — a hands-on activity that proves popular with children and families. Beyond the springs themselves, the park encompasses picnic areas, flowering gardens, dedicated pools for relaxation and foot-soaking, dining options, and an overnight camping area, making it a genuine full-day or multi-day destination rather than a quick stop. The atmosphere is organised and approachable, with facilities catering to a wide range of visitors including families with young children. Hot spring stations are set up for therapeutic soaking at varying temperatures, while the surrounding mountainous scenery adds to the sense of retreat. Vendors on site sell eggs for boiling, and the broader complex includes areas suited to leisurely wandering. Good to know: The park is best reached by private car or organised day tour from Chiang Mai. Visitors should bring swimwear, a towel, and comfortable walking shoes. Arriving in the cooler months between November and February makes the most of the temperature contrast, and an early arrival helps avoid the busiest periods. Those travelling with children should check pool rules at the entrance, as some areas carry specific age or access restrictions.

Visitor Reviews
A really nice place to relax! They also have a nice camping area. One of my favorite things about this place is the hot pool. Of course, my kids love cooking eggs there because it is really fun and delicious. (You can buy them there) I highly recommend checking this place out.
It is a nice place. It is big area where you can do picnic around the park. A lot of flowers and beautiful. There's an area where you can eggs. You can soak your feet in the hot spring stream which is included with entrance fee of 100 baut for foreigners. You can rent towels here and it is very clean. There is need for good hygiene in the mineral bath area. It is run down and could use renovation. Also after each bath, it should be cleaned but I didn't see any staff doing it. They all sat down in the front and talking or watching YouTube. Overall we had fun and it is not expensive. For transportation, you can use Van Station San Kamphaeng Hot springs, Mae Kampong, Mon Jam. They charge round trip 200 baut from Warorot Market.
Beautiful place to spend a day or even camp overnight. The spring shoots constant boiling water in a jet fountain. The water close to.the spring is hot enough to boil eggs which you can buy here. The eggs were delicious, but make sure to cook them at least 9 minutes. I enjoyed soaking my aching feet in the mineral water and felt tired but refreshed afterwards. There are plenty of places for a good foot massage with local prices. There is a mineral bath and private couples baths. Several restaurants and local food, including crepes are sold throughout the park.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
