Coconuts Tours and Bar
Coconuts Tours and Bar occupies a practical dual role on Jetyod Road in central Chiang Rai, operating as both a tour booking agency and a relaxed bar that stays open daily from 8am to 1am. The operation is particularly well regarded for its guided treks into the surrounding jungle and visits to local hill tribe villages, including overnight stays with Lahu communities. Guides receive consistent praise from visitors for their knowledge of the forest, local flora, and the villages they pass through, with the experience often described as feeling personal and attentive rather than generic. Tours can be arranged for individuals or tailored as private multi-day itineraries, with some visitors opting for packages that include airport pickup and a combination of jungle trekking and cultural meals at local family homes. The bar side of the venue provides a convenient place to unwind after a full day in the field and serves as a natural meeting point for independent travellers looking to compare notes or find others to join group departures. Practically speaking, booking at least the evening before is worthwhile, as last-minute arrangements are possible but early booking helps secure preferred guides and tour formats. Arriving in the morning gives the most time to discuss options with staff before heading out. The venue is open every day of the week, so there is no need to plan around closing days.

Visitor Reviews
Coconut tours really deserve the high rating they have ! We booked the night before for the 1 day trek and honestly, it was such a good day with great people and an amazing guide - Bah ! A good tour guide makes the day so much better and rememberable, so leaving with core memories and bamboo souvenirs is more than we could ask for… Can’t recommend their tours enough ! P.S enjoy a drink at their bar at the end of day for some Happy Water !
Mos is the best tour guide ever! Answered all our questions and was very pleasant to be with. We took the jungle trekking + 1 night stay in a Lahu village. Had a really good experience with the locals, the program was well structured and the food was really good. For those not used to trekking uphill through narrow, steep terrain, I wouldn’t recommend this hike. For those who can do it, it’s totally worth it! The views are amazing 🤩
I booked a tour on Agoda and was assigned to Coconuts Tours. I must say I was a bit worried before, but our tour guide, But, made everything perfect. He was the best guide that I have ever met. Having tons of knowledge about the jungle, being energetic, enthusiastic, humorous, he’s awesome! And he was putting a lot of effort into making the bamboo cups as our souvenirs. Thanks again, But, for giving me such an unforgettable memory!

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
