The Old Chiang Mai Cultural Center, on Wua Lai Road south of the Old City, is the city's best-known khantoke dinner, a two-hour evening of northern Thai dishes served on low khantoke trays while performers present traditional Lanna dances and music. Afterward the evening moves outside for a further cultural show in the courtyard.
You choose between sitting on mats on the floor, the traditional way, or at a table, which is kinder on the back, and there are several set menus. Book ahead for seats near the stage, since walk-ins get what's left. Reviewers rate the show and the organization highly, though a few found the food served lukewarm in a busy sitting.
