Kadmanee Market
Kadmanee Market is a nightly evening market in the Hai Ya area of Chiang Mai, sitting south of the old city and drawing a predominantly local crowd. Unlike some of the more tourist-heavy night markets in the city, this one is noted for its unhurried pace, clean surroundings, and genuine neighbourhood feel. A central pond and fountain with string lighting give the market a pleasant ambience after dark, making it as much a place to sit and relax as it is to shop and eat. Food is the main draw, with stalls serving northern Thai street food and skewers alongside a range of everyday dishes. Vendors also sell clothing, accessories, and miscellaneous goods, though the eating and socialising aspect tends to dominate. Seating is available around the market's central area, and prices throughout reflect local rather than tourist-oriented rates. Most vendors have limited English, but the atmosphere is friendly and navigating the stalls is straightforward. Good to know: The market runs every day from 4pm to 11pm, with the atmosphere building from around 5pm onwards as food stalls reach full operation and more visitors arrive. Bringing cash is advisable, as card payments are not widely accepted. The market is located near Central Airport Plaza Chiang Mai, making it easy to combine with a visit to that area. Comfortable footwear is recommended for wandering between outdoor stalls, and an umbrella or light rain jacket can be useful during wetter months.

Visitor Reviews
A much better place than some of the night markets in Chiang Mai as this is less touristy. The pricing are very decent. The place is clean and ambience is great. You can sit like a local and enjoy your food against the fountain there. Grilled food, pizza, Thai food, sushis etc. Everything is there minus the tourist crowds.
I came across on my walk towards Central Airport Chiang Mai. Since it was afternoon, and this market is starting later afternoon, it was pretty empty with still some stalls already open. I can just imagine what a lively place that is around later afternoon/evening.
A nice market located south of the old city square, but still walkable! We were recommended to go and it was a quaint little market with dedicated seating around a pond/fountain. There’s also string lights and decor throughout that adds to the overall ambience! 🐘✨

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
