Botanika Massage - Sala Daeng

4.8(1,765 reviews)

The 4am closing time is the headline here. Bangkok has plenty of late massage shops, but not many that keep the standards up after midnight, and this one takes a walk-in team of seven at 3:00 in the morning without visible panic. That makes it useful after a long-haul arrival, a late flight out of Suvarnabhumi, or a night on Surawong when your back has decided it's had enough.

The room is quiet and cosy rather than polished-hotel, clean, and the front desk staff get named in reviews by first name, which tells you something. Ninety minutes is the sweet spot if you want a therapist to actually work through anything. Tea and a small sweet at the end are part of the routine. It's one of several Botanika branches, and regulars say the standard holds across them.

One flag worth knowing: at least one guest was quoted more to extend a session mid-massage than the standard rate for that length. Agree your duration and price at the desk before you lie down, and you'll avoid the whole issue.

Reviews from Google

I had an amazing massage at Botanika! The staff are so friendly, and the place is super clean, relaxing, and well-maintained. A special thanks to Somi at the reception - I came with a team of 7 people at 3:00 AM, and she handled everything quickly and so professionally. Her kindness and helpful nature made the whole experience smooth and welcoming. The massage itself was excellent - I felt so refreshed and recharged afterward. Truly one of the best massage experiences I’ve ever had. Highly recommend Botanika for anyone looking for quality service and a peaceful environment!

Botanika Massage has become one of my top choices of massage in Bangkok. They are available in several branches and they offer top notch massage. I have visited various branches and the services are good in every branch. Happy to meet Sam the front receptionist again, she is a friendly lady, make us feel welcomed.

The massage was the best part. The masseuse was attentive, kind, skilled, and put a lot of effort. I changed my mind during the massage and wanted to change from 1 to 1.5 hours. The front desk said it would be 600 more, but the normal price is only 400 more. That made no sense. Then she said I could do one more hour for 800 more, when the normal price is only 700 more. It doesn’t cost them any extra time or effort to change it, so I don’t know why she did that. That’s the main reason this place does not get 5 stars from me. Also the cleanliness could be a little better. Cleanliness I would rate as okay. Not amazing, but good enough for most people. I assume they use new sheets each time, but I don’t know for a fact, and they didn’t sanitize the foot wash bowl between uses. Not sure if that matters.

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas

Learn Wat Pho First

Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.

Communicate Pressure Preferences

Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.

Book Longer Sessions

A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
