Sala Daeng BTS Station
Sala Daeng is a mid-line station on the BTS Silom Line, sitting within the Silom commercial and entertainment district in Bangkok's Bang Rak area. It serves as one of the more strategically useful stations on the line, functioning as the primary entry point for the surrounding Silom and Patpong neighbourhoods and acting as a connecting node between the BTS elevated rail system and the MRT underground network at nearby Silom MRT Station. Passengers travelling from the Sukhumvit Line can reach Sala Daeng in two stops from Siam Station, where the two BTS lines intersect. The station itself is consistent with the wider BTS network — elevated, air-conditioned, and generally well-maintained. The surrounding street-level area can become significantly more congested during major events and public holidays, most notably the Songkran water festival, when the Silom road precinct becomes one of the city's primary celebration zones. Good to know: during Songkran, the streets immediately surrounding the station are among the busiest in Bangkok for water festival activity, which can affect journey times and exit access considerably. Travellers who are not participating in the festival may prefer to use an alternate route or station during peak celebration hours. At all other times, the station operates as a straightforward and reliable transit point on one of Bangkok's most frequented rail corridors.

Visitor Reviews
The BTS SkyTrain has always been awesome since it first opened. Probably the safest, cleanest, easiest to use light rail in the World. Highest marks! However, my main comment here is about the incredible staff in the ticket counter at Sala Daeng station. After a delicious, spicy dinner, I was going home to Wongwein Yai area. Suddenly, the chillies in my intestine attacked! It was an emergency! I needed a toilet right away! I jumped off at Sala Daeng. I asked one young man in the ticket counter "Where is the nearest toilet?" He quickly can see I needed toilet right away and quick thinking he arranged for the station cleaning staff to open the access to toilet inside the Watson's, right there inside the station. A most embarrassing disaster was avoided! That guy is a complete HERO, in my book. Cool, calm, and decisive. I am forever grateful! BTS needs to promote this young fellow and double his salary, at least. Much Thanks!
so much memories!!! this is the stop if you’re going to silom area, get so many trains here across the years! Oh there is this killer pot brownie and pot cookie seller right under this bts stop which I REALLY like but I can’t find them on google map. They’re chillax cannabis! really loveeee their products.
Sala Daeng BTS station is located in the Silom line. Passengers travelling in the Sukhumvit line can change to silom line at the Siam station. Sala Daeng is the second stop from the Siam station. Get down at the Sala Daeng for visiting Silom and Patpong night market.

Tips for Visiting Transportation
Take the Sleeper Train at Least Once
The Bangkok-to-Chiang Mai overnight train in a second-class sleeper berth is a bucket-list experience. Book at least a week ahead via 12Go.asia or at Hua Lamphong station. Upper berths are cheaper and have more headroom; lower berths have a window.
Use Grab Everywhere
Grab is the Uber of Southeast Asia and works across Thailand for cars, motorbike taxis, and even tuk-tuks in some cities. It eliminates haggling and provides fare estimates upfront. Load a Thai SIM or use eSIM to stay connected.
Rent Scooters Carefully
Always photograph the scooter's existing damage before riding off, and keep your passport — give a photocopy instead (some shops insist on the original; avoid these). Wear a helmet; police fine 500 THB for no helmet and accidents without one void insurance.
