Krabi Night Street Food
This open-air food court on Kongka Road in Pak Nam draws both locals and visitors each evening with a collection of vendor stalls serving Thai street food classics including grilled meats, seafood, noodle dishes, and curries. The riverside setting adds a distinctive atmosphere, with outdoor seating offering views of the water while the surrounding stalls fill the air with cooking aromas. Among the vendors, a stall widely known as Mama Cooking has earned particular praise from visitors, with multiple reviewers citing it as a standout for both flavour and value, and noting that the cook is accommodating of dietary requirements including vegan requests. Expectations are worth calibrating before visiting. The market operates as a casual, informal food court rather than a curated dining experience, and some visitors have found the seasoning and variety underwhelming compared to other street food destinations in the region. That said, the social atmosphere, riverside outlook, and generally low prices make it a reasonable evening outing for travellers based in Krabi. Good to know: The market opens at 17:00 every day of the week and typically runs until 22:30, with the busiest period and widest stall selection falling between 18:00 and 20:00. Cash is strongly recommended as most vendors are unlikely to accept card payments. The location is accessible from central Krabi by tuk-tuk or taxi, and seating is generally available even during busier periods.

Visitor Reviews
Look for this place! If you decide to check out this food market, go to this lovely lady's restaurant. I'm not just saying this to be nice, it was the best food we've had in Thailand! We had the fish curry, fried garlic and pepper shrimp and she even gave us complementary spring rolls, added calamari into the fish curry and gave me extra syrup for my thai milk tea🥺 Everything was so flavourful and I've never had calamari cooked so perfectly. I can't encourage you enough to go there! She also came running down the street after us cause my partner forgot his glass😂🩵 so sweet!
I enjoyed it a lot to sit outside and have a view on the river while eating. There are many different food choices and enough tables that you will get one. I tried different huts and they served me all very good and cheap food. The service was always fast and polite. I can only recommend to try it at least once!
Mama Cooking does the best food we have tried in Thailand so far! She is lovely, food is cheap and absolutely delicious. Totally recommend! She understood us being vegan and made us amazing vegan food. Also gave us some free spring rolls which was really kind.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
