The Ranch
Nestled within the Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui, The Ranch is a refined steakhouse that has earned a strong reputation among serious food lovers visiting the island. The kitchen takes a focused approach to quality meat, with standout offerings including wagyu beef, ranch steak, and lamb chops — all prepared with evident care and technical precision. Starters such as beef carpaccio and burrata salad round out the menu, and the wine list draws consistent praise, particularly for the generous pour sizes. The atmosphere strikes a balance between warmth and elegance, with attentive, personalised service that regulars frequently single out. Reviewers describe it as a genuinely refined dining experience that holds its own against high-end steakhouses in major cities — the wagyu, in particular, impresses even those who have eaten it in Japan. The setting reflects the broader Ritz-Carlton standard, making it a fitting choice for a special occasion dinner or a long, unhurried evening meal. Given its location within a luxury resort, smart-casual dress is advisable, and advance reservations are strongly recommended — especially during peak travel months between December and March when Koh Samui sees its highest visitor numbers. No website is currently listed, so booking directly through the Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui is the most reliable approach.

Visitor Reviews
Enjoyed wholesomely over a beautiful dinner at this refined steakhouse inside the Ritz Carlton. The experience lived up to what previous diners had described - from the warm welcome to the food and consistent service. The company and I virtually enjoyed all the menus; though my highlight goes (rightfully) to the main show: the steaks. The cuts of meat are dry aged and were prepared very nicely. The doneness level is spot on and both the wagyu tenderloin and the rib eye were nothing short of exquisite. Although, I did learnt earlier that there were cuts of picanhas and chateaubriands here but unfortunately discovered on the spot that the menu had been updated and these cuts weren't available, sadly. Beyond the meat, we also enjoyed the seabass ceviche, the lobster bisque, the wagyu beef tartare, as well as the restaurant's complimentary set of pretzels to enjoy each. The service was as professional as it was cordial from every member of the team - consistent, attentive and so nicely cared for. Heaps of thanks to Mai and the team for such great care and making our evening so wonderful. The refined steakhouse experience here is truly indulged.
The Ranch – Perfect Steak & Elegant Ambiance The Ranch exceeded all expectations! The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection, full of rich flavor and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The ambiance was elegant yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot for a special dinner. Service was attentive and professional, ensuring every detail was just right. If you’re looking for top-quality steak, a refined setting, and a memorable dining experience in Samui, The Ranch is a must-visit! Highly recommended. 🍷🥩✨
It was an incredible experience. Best meat I have ever had and amazing service by Non. I am a big foodie and love meat and was a bit suspicious to see wagyu beef outside Japan and it did not disappoint. We celebrated our honeymoon here and it was the best decision we could have made. The prices are a bit high specially for Thailand but it was so worth it. Non was extremely mindful for our needs and gave us the best experience we had so far.
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
