Thongson Beach

Decided to visit this beach that I had totally overlooked each time I visited Koh Samui. It was a good choice to visit as this is probably one of the most wonderful beaches on the island. The water is really clear and it's a good place to swim and relax. The water is also very shallow, which allows the water to be pretty warm. Definitely worth visiting!

One of the more quiet beaches of Koh Samui. You won’t notice if there’s a lot of wind because it is “protected” from the hill. There are plenty of spots with shade from the palmtrees. Only at the end to get there, there is a sand road. But not difficult to drive.

DO NOT JETSKI HERE – SERIOUSLY, DON’T. Read why: I usually jetski here without any problems, but today was just ridiculous. I had been riding for barely 8 minutes(booked 20 min) when the jetski suddenly stopped working. Later we found out there was plastic stuck inside the engine because people pollute the ocean. Because of that, I could only drive back at around 8 km/h — no speed, no fun, nothing. After about 15 minutes struggling back, I finally reached the beach. We then asked, very normally, if I could get maybe 10 more minutes since I only had about 8 minutes of real jetski time before it broke. My Thai girlfriend explained it politely… and then one of the guys suddenly got angry at her. He even asked if we “had a problem,” acting like he wanted to start a fight. The woman there said it was my fault and that they couldn’t do anything. Absolutely unbelievable. I normally jetski here with fun, but this was just shameful. Unfriendly people, zero responsibility for their own equipment, and they even try to blame you. Never jetski here. Horrible service and plenty of other places where they treat you like a human being.
