Elephant Beach Club

4.6(2,131 reviews)$$$$

Sitting on the northern shore of Koh Samui in the Bo Put area, this beachfront bar and club offers evening entertainment with a noticeably more relaxed character than the busier strips of Chaweng or Lamai. The combination of a beach setting and resort facilities draws a sociable mix of tourists and regulars who want atmosphere without intensity, making it a solid choice for those seeking a laid-back night out with a genuine coastal feel. The venue runs long hours, opening daily at 8:00 AM and staying open until 1:00 AM most nights, which makes it flexible for travellers on different schedules — whether that's afternoon drinks watching the sun go down or a later session with a crowd. Saturday nights extend to 2:00 AM for those planning a bigger evening. Mid-range pricing keeps things accessible without feeling like a budget compromise, and the beachfront setting suits everything from a casual sundowner to drinks well into the night. Good to know: Bo Put is quieter by Koh Samui standards, so the atmosphere here tends to build gradually through the evening rather than arriving at full intensity from the start. Arriving in the earlier evening hours allows for a more relaxed experience before the later crowd comes in. It is worth checking the venue's website at elephantbeachclubresort.com before visiting, as special events and seasonal programming can affect the atmosphere and operating hours.

Visitor Reviews

Me and my husband stayed at elephant beach club for 4 nights and loved it. We were only supposed to stayed for 3 nights however loved it that much we booked an extra night stay and wished we could stay longer but sadly we had a flight that we couldn’t change. All staff were really lovely, helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. The reception team especially were great. We organised excursions through them and were really helpful with recommendations too. Everytime we left the complex or arrived back they greeted us with a smile and asked how we were. The rooms were really nice. A comfortable bed, all the amenities that you require and also spacious. A special mention for the reception WhatsApp service that was really helpful and a nice touch. I wish I could name all the reception staffs names because everyone of them were amazing however another special mention for Ganda, Ploy, Wawa, Sopita and Sunisa. My stay at elephant beach club and resort has been very special and I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody. I will definitely be staying here again myself. Thank you to everyone at elephant beach club for making my trip to samui a pleasure.

We had the most incredible stay at The Elephant Beach Resort and honestly couldn’t recommend it more highly. From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely amazing — so warm, welcoming and genuinely attentive. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed throughout our stay. Our bungalow was spotless and beautifully maintained. The room was very clean, fresh and comfortable, and the entire resort is clearly looked after with great care and pride. The pool area is a standout — stunning, vibrant and full of great energy with music playing, creating such a fun but still relaxing atmosphere. It’s the perfect balance between chilled tropical vibes and a lively holiday feel. The location is also ideal — close to everything you need, making it so easy to explore Koh Samui while still feeling like you’re in your own little paradise retreat. We absolutely loved our stay and would 100% return. Highly, highly recommend to anyone visiting Koh Samui!

We had an amazing stay at elephant beach club and resort Samui. All of the staff were amazing and very helpful. They really are the nicest people. A special mention for the amazing reception staff Ganda, Ploy and Wawa. All other reception staff were amazing too but I cannot remember everybody’s name. Everybody was very friendly and greet you with a smile every day. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. It smells very good too with wax burners everyday from the cleaning team. The pool area was very nice with again great staff and plenty of sunbeds and seating. Location is perfect for nightlife and of course the beach. I would highly recommend this hotel and will 100% be coming back to stay here again in the future myself. Also a special mention of how flexible management were with allowing us to change our arrival date and check out time at late notice. Thank you to everyone at Elephant Beach Club and Resort. See you again next time.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars

Carry Your Passport or a Copy

Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.

Know the Closing Times

Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.

Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously

Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
