Sea La Vie Bar and Restaurant Koh Samui - ซีลาวีบาร์ เกาะสมุย
Tucked into the quieter Plai Leam area of northern Koh Samui, this beachfront bar and restaurant draws visitors for its combination of waterfront atmosphere, well-considered food, and a drinks programme that goes beyond the basics. The setting is a natural fit for sunset watching, and the team — including an owner known for personally attending to guests — gives the place a warmth that larger beach venues often lack. The menu spans Thai classics, fusion dishes, and fresh seafood, with standout options including tuna tataki and Penang curry. On the drinks side, the bar runs creative long cocktails alongside sangria and classic serves, with newer additions like the Japanese liqueur-infused Sendo High drawing particular attention. The music is kept at a level that suits conversation, and the overall atmosphere sits comfortably between lively and relaxed — suitable for a brunch, a full dinner, or an extended evening of drinks. Open daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the venue covers everything from morning coffee through to a late-night session. Pricing sits at the mid-range level, making it accessible without cutting corners on quality or presentation. Reviewers note that the restaurant can run short-staffed when fully booked during peak periods, so arriving shortly before sunset or reaching out through the Facebook page to arrange a table in advance is a practical step if a waterfront spot is a priority.

The service is top-notch: very attentive, kind, and always making sure you’re comfortable. You really feel taken care of. Huge thanks to Ismaël for his warm welcome and for creating such an amazing place. This beach club is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy great food, and watch an unforgettable sunset. Highly recommended!
We tried out the new 'Sendo High' long cocktail at Sea La Vie beach restaurant. Refreshingly different, infused with Japanese liquer, for a unique taste. This is an absolute must for all Negroni lovers! We enjoyed a delicious thai curry whilst watching the stunning sunset. The staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring we were well looked after all evening and such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere Highly recommended!
We had such a wonderful evening here. The food was a 10/10 – everything was absolutely delicious. The manager and the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the whole evening. The location is also perfect for watching the sunset, which made the experience even more special. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back again!

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
