Copacabana Rooftop diner
Perched above Tha Phae Road in the heart of Chiang Mai, this rooftop bar and diner offers one of the city's most talked-about sunset vantage points, with unobstructed views of the historic Tha Phae Gate and the mountains beyond. The bohemian atmosphere, chilled DJ sets, and crafted cocktail menu make it a natural gathering spot for both travellers and locals as the evening gets underway.
Inside and on the open rooftop terrace, the setting leans toward relaxed and chic rather than formal — think ambient music, attentive but unhurried service, and a crowd that comes as much for the atmosphere as the drinks. On weekends, the venue sits directly above the busy walking street below, giving diners an elevated view of the action without being in the middle of it. The cocktail menu draws consistent praise from visitors, and food is available alongside the drinks offering.

Reviews from Google
Best place in Chiang Mai for Sunset. You can't come to Chiang Mai and not visit this bar. You have a perfect view of Ta Phae gate and the sun setting behind the mountains. Simply beautiful. They have a good selection of drinks and food. The owner and the staff are super friendly, and the bar plays Latin music, and there is enough room for dancing. The entrance is through the Chinese restaurant downstairs. They have free WiFi, and they accept only cash. Highly recommend it.
Was recommended from a local friend in chiangmai, kind staffs, good services, good food and best view in the heart of the city with mountains view ! Definitely worth the visiting ! Definitely will visiting again ! See you again Copacabana bar !
Gorgeous rooftop sunset bar with bohemian vibes and chilled live DJ (we went on a Sunday and got a great view of the walking street below whilst the sun went down). Nice cocktail selection, we didn’t try any food here.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
