Khubani Rooftop Bar and Restaurant خوباني

4.8(1,512 reviews)

Perched above Thaweewong Road in the heart of Patong, this open-air rooftop venue combines Indian and Turkish cuisine with a serious cocktail programme and regular live music, drawing a mixed crowd of food-focused diners and those looking for a livelier evening out. The elevated setting lifts guests above the street-level noise, giving the space a noticeably more relaxed feel than many of Patong's ground-floor options. The kitchen produces dishes like butter chicken alongside a menu broad enough to cover varied tastes, while the bar is a clear draw in its own right. Signature cocktails such as the Khubani and the Nightmare are frequently highlighted by visitors, and wine by the bottle is noted as surprisingly affordable — bottles of red and white have been cited at around 900 baht each. Evening visits carry a livelier energy as live music kicks in, making the venue work equally well as a dinner spot or a late-night destination. Open daily from noon through to 1:00 AM, the venue suits everything from a relaxed lunch to a session well into the night. The sunset window is consistently the most popular time, so booking ahead is advisable during peak season, particularly for groups. The address on Thaweewong Road is easy to reach on foot or by tuk-tuk from most Patong accommodations. Check the website for upcoming events before visiting.

I had a great experience at Khubani Rooftop Bar and Restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and the staff were very friendly. They have a signature cocktail called “Khubani,” which was honestly so good that I went back another night just to have it again! I wish I knew the recipe so I could make it myself — it’s hard to come all the way back to Thailand just for one drink 😂 They also had a belly dancer, which made the night really fun, and the DJ created a great vibe. The food was delicious too. Overall, it was a lovely place and I’d definitely recommend it.

A good place for evening gatherings with friends! I was very pleased. Cocktails deserve special praise — they are diverse, tasty and well served. The atmosphere on the roof is simply gorgeous: pleasant music, friendly atmosphere and stunning views of the city create ideal conditions for relaxation and good mood. I will definitely come back here

What a place! I ordered the butter chicken which turned out to be one of the best I've had. The service was quick and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place for anyone that enjoyed Turkish food or Indian . The drinks and food are priced well. One of my top picks for Phuket.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food

Learn the Spice Scale

Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.

Follow the Crowds

The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.

Ice Is Safe

Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
