SOI Bangkok Restaurant

4.6(570 reviews)

Tucked inside the ASAI Bangkok Sathorn hotel on North Sathon Road, SOI Bangkok sits in the heart of Si Lom, one of Bangkok's busiest business and entertainment districts. The restaurant draws both hotel guests and outside diners with its contemporary take on authentic Thai cuisine, a relaxed yet characterful ambience, and staff that visitors consistently describe as attentive and genuinely hospitable. The menu leans into Thai classics done well — pad thai, tom yum soup, pork satay, and pineapple fried rice all feature prominently in visitor praise, alongside grilled seafood and a small but notable selection of bakery items and desserts, including a standout mung lentil-based sweet and a well-regarded brownie. The kitchen is available from early morning, making SOI Bangkok a practical choice for breakfast through to a late dinner. For those who enjoy a drink with their meal, the craft beer selection is worth exploring. Opening hours run from 06:30 daily, closing at 23:00 on weekdays and midnight on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The extended weekend hours make it a convenient option after an evening out in Si Lom. The nearest BTS Skytrain stations — Chong Nonsi and Sala Daeng — are both within walking distance, keeping access straightforward from most parts of the city. Reservations are worth considering for weekend evenings when the area is at its liveliest; the restaurant website carries current booking and event information.

Great food and a really nice ambiance—perfect for hanging out with friends over lunch. I especially enjoyed the pad thai and the tom yum soup; both were fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Definitely a place I’d come back to for good food and good company.

We had a great evening at SOI Bangkok. The food was excellent. The cozy ambience coupled w friendly n attentive staff made us very welcome. Ordered the grilled sea bass and pineapple fried rice. The seasoning n doneness for the sea bass was excellent. Compliments to the chefs.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food

Learn the Spice Scale

Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.

Follow the Crowds

The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.

Ice Is Safe

Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
