Why go, and how to do it well
Sarnies on Charoen Krung Soi 44 is the café that put the Creative District on the brunch map. It fills two old shophouses joined by an arched doorway on the second floor, in a building that was once a boat repair shop. Sarnies roasts its own coffee, and the menu is a full all-day brunch built around house sourdough, with eggs and big breakfasts.
This is the original. Sarnies has since opened several other branches across Bangkok, including a sourdough bakery nearby and a café at The Corner House in Talat Noi, so use the full name when you search for directions.
Weekend mornings are the busiest time, so arrive early or come on a weekday. BTS Saphan Taksin and Sathorn Pier are close, which makes it an easy breakfast before a river boat, and the Charoen Krung galleries, the Warehouse 30 complex and Talat Noi are all within a walk.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
Use Grab for Delivery
The Grab app works for food delivery across Thailand, letting you order from street stalls and restaurants alike. It's invaluable on rainy days or when you want to eat in your hotel.
