Sally Phuket Old Town
Tucked into the heart of Phuket Old Town on Phuket Road, this bar delivers an authentically local nightlife experience that stands apart from the beach resort scene. With a Broadway-inspired aesthetic visible from the street-level signage and bar counter, the venue has its own distinct character, drawing a predominantly Thai crowd that comes for the live music, cold drinks, and relaxed company. Evenings here typically feature a live Thai pop band, with regulars singing along to favourite songs while snacking on bar bites. Standout food options from visitors include fish cake, seafood salad, and fried chicken skins, while the cocktails — whiskey sours in particular — draw consistent praise. Complimentary popcorn is served at the bar counter, adding a casual, welcoming touch. Staff are noted for being friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere leans informal and sociable rather than flashy. Good to know: Opening hours are not listed online, so it is worth calling ahead or checking social media before making the trip, particularly on quieter weeknights. The Old Town location is walkable and well-connected by tuk-tuk from other parts of Phuket, and the surrounding streets offer street food and heritage architecture worth exploring before or after a visit. Casual dress is perfectly appropriate.

Visitor Reviews
60s broadway themed bar. You can tell from the sign outside and just how the bar counter itself looks like. Alongside their signature drinks. They serve complimentary small portions of popcorn. Which is a nice classical touch. There is a wide selection of drinks, including their own signatures. I tried the Sally Signature, and I could see what they're going for, but the drink was dominated by the floral flavor. The cosmopolitan was pretty good. They also serve food and nibbles. The seats weren't really comfy and not inviting for a long stay. As foreigners we were the minority, the place is more filled with thai people. There was a live thai band playing. The place was busy and lively, it was a really good vibe, specially that the majority of bars around this one were near-emtpy. Thank you for the experience 🙏
Fun, local spot. Granted, we were probably 2 of 3 tourists in the club, but they had a good Thai pop band. Everyone sang along to their favorite song…and we happily snacked on fried chicken skins with our Leos, enjoying the atmosphere. The server gave us some popcorn and rice porridge too! As westerners, we loved it!
Food is amazing. Highly recommend the fish cake & seafood salad. Staffs are soooo cool & singers are cuteness overload!! I LOVE EVERYTHING HERE!! If you like local Thai bar & Thai song YOU NEED TO COME HERE! Thank you Sally for a really good night!
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
