Roti Thaew Nam
A Phuket institution that has earned a place on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list for seven consecutive years, this modest breakfast spot on Thep Krasattri Road draws a loyal crowd of locals and visitors alike for its freshly made roti at remarkably wallet-friendly prices. The signature dish — egg roti paired with chicken massaman curry — is prepared in full view of diners, with vendors working the dough right in front of the queue. The setting is small, informal, and no-frills, with simple seating and an open kitchen atmosphere that lends itself to the charcoal warmth of a working street food stall. The menu covers both sweet and savoury roti variations, with the double egg roti priced at around 40 baht making it one of the more affordable Michelin-recognised dishes anywhere in the region. Menus are available in both Thai and English, and service moves quickly despite the crowds. Good to know: The stall opens daily at 7am and closes at noon, so this is strictly a morning visit. It gets busy, particularly on weekends, and seating fills fast — arriving early is advisable. Cash in Thai baht is the practical choice for payment. The casual, open-air environment means dress is entirely relaxed, and the compact space can feel warm, so lightweight clothing is recommended.

Visitor Reviews
There is no doubt why this place has been on Michelin Bib Gourmand list for 7 consecutive years. The food is absolutely amazing. The service is quick and the menu is in Thai and English. No problem if your don’t speak Thai. I ordered beef curry, two plain roti and chicken sausage with lemon Thai tea. The beef was tender and seasoned just enough to have a little bite but not overpowering. The roti was perfect complement to the curry. The chicken sausage was good. But those three things were just a bit too much for one person. The food is Halal
This restaurant is local and quite small. However, food was phenomenal. I got Roti with chicken Massaman curry topped with fried egg. They made the fresh Roti right in front of you. It was so tasty. I liked their homemade soy milk. You can adjust the sweetness which I like it about. The price is reasonable. The service was excellent. I went there with my baby in a stroller. They offered me to sit out front for some breeze. I definitely like to support local food and recommend this place
This was the best food I had while in Phuket!! The roti was perfectly cooked and it had just enough crispness to make it superb. The chicken was so tasty and a perfect complement to the roti. By far the show stealer was the banana roti. So freaking delicious!!! I would highly recommend visiting while in old town.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
