The Loof Bar&Co.
Perched above Thanon Talang in the heart of Phuket Old Town, this rooftop bar offers a relaxed escape from the island's busier beach resort scene. The elevated setting delivers views over the historic streetscape below, with guests able to spot the night market from above — a perspective that sets it apart from most drinking spots in Phuket. The cocktail menu is a genuine draw, with signature creations alongside crowd-pleasers like Tokyo Tea and lychee mojito earning consistent praise from visitors. The atmosphere leans laid-back rather than high-energy, with comfortable seating, good music, and staff — particularly a team member named Nut, frequently mentioned by name in reviews — known for being attentive and genuinely welcoming. Live music adds to the ambience on certain evenings, making it a solid choice for a social night out without the intensity of a club setting. Good to know: Rooftop seating with old town views is limited to just two tables, so arriving early in the evening is advisable if securing that spot is a priority. The venue sits in the cultural quarter of Phuket rather than near any beach, so plan to travel by taxi or tuk-tuk. Its location among heritage shophouses, local restaurants, and galleries makes it a natural stop when exploring the old town area after dark.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
