Samui Sunshine Bar
Tucked along Chaweng Beach Road in one of Koh Samui's busiest strips, Samui Sunshine Bar has built a quiet reputation as a genuine find among visitors who stumble upon it. Despite its central location on the main beach road, it carries the feel of a discovery rather than a tourist trap — a relaxed, welcoming spot where the cocktails are consistently praised for both quality and value. The bar specialises in cocktails and draws a crowd that appreciates good drinks without the noise and pressure of the bigger, more commercial venues nearby. The atmosphere is casual and unhurried, with friendly service that regulars mention returning for more than once during the same holiday. Guests staying at nearby resorts along the Chaweng strip, including properties like the Centara Reserve, have found it an easy and rewarding walk from their accommodation. The owner is noted for being particularly personable, and has even helped guests arrange local trips and excursions. Open daily from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the bar suits both afternoon visits for a quiet drink and early evening sessions before heading further into Chaweng's nightlife. Arriving around sunset is a practical sweet spot — the crowd is relaxed but the energy is starting to build. For those who prefer a gentler introduction to Chaweng's bar scene, or simply want a reliable spot for well-made cocktails at fair prices, this is a straightforward choice.

Visitor Reviews
Holidays…who doesn’t love them?! The combination of a paradise island, tasty cocktails and great music is what I found in this hidden gem. I came across this bar on my travels to the beautiful Thai island of Koh Samui and I have returned many times on my other vacations I spent here. Staff is friendly and you always feel “at home” in this bar. Thank you for the many pleasant evenings Samui Sunshine Bar and until we meet again!! Ps: even a Unicorn named @who_is_chicha adored your Pink Lady cocktail. And that means a lot 🦄❤️🍹
Samui Sunshine Bar is overall excellent. My partner and I are staying nearby at the Centara Reserve and we stumbled upon this gem last night and are back today ( and will visit again before we leave). The cocktails and menu are amazing and the mixologist-owner, Supansa is delightful, friendly, and talented. I highly recommend
This bar has amazing cocktails! The owner even arranged a fantastic trip for us at a great price. The service is fantastic, just super nice and friendly people! You absolutely have to go there!

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
