Main Street
Situated on Maenamkwai Road — the heart of Kanchanaburi's bar scene — Main Street is a popular gathering spot for travellers looking to unwind after a day exploring the region's historic sites. The bar draws a sociable crowd with its relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and a solid lineup of entertainment that keeps people coming back night after night. Live music is a regular feature, with a Filipino musical duo frequently providing the entertainment, and karaoke gives guests a chance to join in themselves. A pool table adds another reason to linger, and the drinks menu covers cocktails and standard beverages at prices that won't stretch the budget. Staff are noted for being welcoming and English-speaking, which makes it an easy choice for solo travellers and groups alike. Notably, reviewers highlight the absence of bar girls, contributing to a relaxed and unpretentious vibe that sets it apart from some other venues in the area. Main Street tends to get busier during high tourist season, so arriving earlier in the evening is a good way to secure a comfortable spot. It sits within easy walking distance of the riverside guesthouses and hotels along Maenamkwai Road, making it a convenient option for an after-dinner drink or a full night out. Mid-range pricing means it suits most travel budgets without feeling like a compromise on atmosphere or experience.

Visitor Reviews
Charming bar with live music and karaoke - play pool or entertain the crowd with your favourite song alongside some of their delicious drinks - always a good time 🫰💚🥰
They make great cocktails here and the Philipino musical duo provide excellent entertainment. I went three nights in a row during my stay in Kanchanaburi.
So far, one of the best places for the live music, no bar girls, very friendly lady owner and just very chilling atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
