Keeree Mantra Restaurant
Set against a dramatic backdrop of limestone mountains and lush green fields on Thanon Sangchuto, Keeree Mantra is a large, well-established Thai restaurant that offers far more than just a meal. The expansive grounds give diners the choice between an air-conditioned indoor zone and an open-air terrace, both oriented toward sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. The combination of cool mountain air, generous space, and natural scenery makes it a popular stop for both locals and travellers passing through Kanchanaburi. The menu focuses on traditional Thai cuisine, with dishes like deep-fried gourd in flour spicy salad drawing particular attention from visitors for their unexpected depth of flavour. The kitchen handles a broad range of classic preparations, and the food quality is generally considered solid across the menu. Portions and presentation are consistent with the mid-range pricing, making it a reasonable choice for groups, families, or solo travellers looking for a relaxed sit-down meal. Keeree Mantra is open every day from 10:00 to 21:00, making it a convenient option for both lunch and dinner. Given the size and popularity of the venue, it handles large groups reasonably well, though arriving earlier in the lunch or dinner window helps secure preferred seating on the outdoor terrace. The Facebook page listed on their profile is the best place to check for any updates before visiting.

Visitor Reviews
If you’re heading to Kanchanaburi and want a dining experience that feels like a literal breath of fresh air, Keeree Mantra is an absolute must-visit. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a full sensory retreat. Here’s why it stands out: 🏔️ A View Like No Other The first thing that hits you is the stunning view of the mountains. The restaurant is framed by lush greenery and rolling peaks, offering a backdrop that feels more like a painting than real life. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from the city buzz. 🌿 Nature-Inspired Architecture The architecture is incredibly aesthetically pleasing, drawing heavy inspiration from the surrounding environment. With high ceilings, natural materials, and an open layout, the transition between the building and the landscape is seamless. It truly feels like you are having a meal in the middle of a forest. 🍽️ The Dining Experience The menu doesn’t disappoint, either. I absolutely loved the dishes—everything tasted fresh and well-prepared, matching the high quality of the setting. Seating Options: • Outdoor: Perfect for soaking in the scenery and the natural breeze. If you want the full "forest floor" experience, this is the way to go. • Indoor: If the Thailand sun gets a bit too intense and you’re feeling hot, the indoor seating offers a cool, air-conditioned sanctuary without sacrificing the beautiful views thanks to large glass windows. Tip: Try to arrive just before sunset. Watching the light change over the mountains while you eat is magical!
Recently visited Keeree Mantra Kanchanaburi and had a memorable experience overall! The Deep-Fried Gourd in Flour Spicy Salad was a pleasant surprise — on its own the gourd is quite normal, but paired with the sauce it becomes a real winner. We also tried a Thai steamed coconut milk curry with fish (forgot the exact name). The presentation was unique with a paste-like texture that reminded me of otah-otah. Taste was okay, but the fish had some small bones here and there. The crab meat dish was lovely — quite pricey, but there was plenty of crab meat which made it feel worth it. However, the pineapple fried rice wasn’t great. It was too sweet and almost tasted artificial, which didn’t sit well with the rest of the meal. Service here was excellent — the staff were super friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even better. One of the biggest highlights is the view. If you go around sunset, you can see the sun setting with the mountain backdrop — absolutely beautiful and perfect for photos. You can also stroll around the garden area and visit CHAN Nature Cafe (linked to the restaurant area), which has a lovely outdoor vibe with nature and cactus displays — great for chilling or taking photos after your meal. Modern, resort-like atmosphere in the middle of nature — definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
I had a really great experience here. The place is very spacious and comfortable, which makes it perfect for relaxing and enjoying your time. The atmosphere is also very cool and refreshing, so even when it’s busy it still feels pleasant and not crowded. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared, and you can really tell that they care about the quality of what they serve. The menu has good options and the flavors were very satisfying. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to visit if you’re looking for a comfortable spot to eat and spend time with friends or family. The spacious environment, nice atmosphere, and tasty food make it a place I would definitely come back to again. Highly recommended!

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
