On’s Thai-Issan Vegan
Order the Massaman. That's the dish people cross town for, and more than one traveller has admitted to eating here four days running. It's all vegan, all Issan-rooted, cooked in front of you on Mae Nam Kwai Road, and the portions come out bigger than the prices suggest they should. The pad thai gets its share of praise too. If tofu isn't your thing, you'll still find plenty on the menu that isn't built around it.
On herself is usually there, and that's a big part of why the place works. Reviews keep circling back to the same words: warm, family, like eating at someone's grandmother's house. She also runs cooking classes, hands-on from the start, several dishes in a session, tailored to what you want to learn, with recipes to take home. If you've been meaning to figure out how Thai food actually comes together, this is a good place to do it. Meat eaters shouldn't skip it either. Nobody's asking you to convert.

Reviews from Google
Have eaten here several times and always enjoy it. Recently attended the cooking class and highly recommend. On is an excellent teacher who presents information clearly. You get hands on straight away, making several dishes. On tailors the class to your request, there's plenty of time to eat and enjoy the wonderful flavours. Everything is vegetarian, with lots of really great vegan options also. To top it off On is super friendly and sweet, giving you recipes at the end and letting you know that you're always welcome to come back for further questions or even ingredients. Had a great time and will recommend to others. The cooking class is also very reasonably priced as you get to eat the dishes you make or can take them home with you . Definitely come on am empty stomach!
If you are visiting Kanchanaburi please make yourself a favor to visit this restaurant and devour all the menu On,the owner, she is an incredible women with a huge passion for the food she cooks. Besides her charismatic approach to the guests make you feel you are at your grandma home. Don't miss out!!!!! You will love the home food she cooks. Last but not least if you are interested in learning how to cook vegan Thai food , On will teach beautifully
The food is absolutely delicious. The portions are bigger than we had expected and very cheaply priced. Really lovely to have some vegan food. The only thing I'm not too keen on is tofu but otherwise it was a lovely meal. Definitely recommend to meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
