The Iron Fairies Music Bar Bangkok
Tucked into Soi Sukhumvit 39, The Iron Fairies is a long-running Bangkok institution that blends a fairy-tale industrial aesthetic with live music, craft cocktails, and a full food menu. As both a cocktail bar and live music venue, it occupies an unusual space in the city's nightlife scene — part lounge, part gastropub, part stage — and has built a loyal following among long-term Bangkok residents and visitors alike. The venue's distinctive personality, driven in part by its hands-on ownership, sets it apart from the more polished, generic bars elsewhere in the Sukhumvit corridor. Guests can expect a good selection of cocktails, a food menu worth exploring, and live music that gives the evenings real atmosphere. Those who remember the original Thonglor branch may notice the current Sukhumvit 39 location has a different scale and feel — opinions on the change vary, with some regulars finding it an improvement and others preferring the original. One quirk worth knowing: the bar uses a digital ordering system rather than table service, which is a departure from older formats. Good to know: The Iron Fairies comes into its own later in the evening when the music is in full swing, so an early arrival may feel quieter than expected. The nearest BTS station is Phrom Phong, making it easy to reach by Skytrain. Mid-range pricing makes it a reasonable choice for a full night out rather than a passing stop.

Visitor Reviews
Been going here many years. Great place with music. Very good food. Cocktails great choice 👍. But please dont put the swing in the bar, very dangerous. I did fall down from the swing.
It’s one of my favorite places in Bangkok! I miss the old one, but this turned out even better than I expected 🧚🧚🧚🧚🏻♂️🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
