The Iron Fairies Music Bar Bangkok
Tucked away on Soi Sukhumvit 39, The Iron Fairies is a Bangkok institution with a devoted following built over many years. The bar blends a theatrical, fairy-tale industrial aesthetic with live music performances, craft cocktails, and a food menu — an unusual combination that sets it apart from the more straightforward nightlife options elsewhere in the Sukhumvit district. The venue functions as a cocktail bar, lounge, and live music stage rolled into one, drawing a loyal mix of long-term Bangkok residents and curious visitors. Regulars praise the cocktail selection and food alongside the music atmosphere, and the bar has cultivated a reputation for having genuine character rather than a polished, generic feel. Some longtime visitors note that the current Sukhumvit 39 location differs in scale and atmosphere from the original Thonglor branch, so those with memories of the original may find the experience has evolved. The digital ordering system is a notable change from older formats that some guests have commented on. Good to know: The bar comes to life in the evening hours, so a later arrival will give visitors the fullest sense of what the venue offers. The surrounding Sukhumvit 39 area is well-served by BTS Phrom Phong station, making it straightforward to reach by public transport. Mid-range pricing makes it a reasonable choice for a full evening out rather than a quick stop.

Visitor Reviews
Been going here many years. Great place with music. Very good food. Cocktails great choice 👍. But please dont put the swing in the bar, very dangerous. I did fall down from the swing.
It’s one of my favorite places in Bangkok! I miss the old one, but this turned out even better than I expected 🧚🧚🧚🧚🏻♂️🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
