If you've got a long list of people to bring gifts home for, this is where I'd spend an hour. Reviewers keep coming back to the same point: the souvenir selection here beats a lot of the shops that exist purely to sell souvenirs, and it's all under one roof with air conditioning. The beer and spirits aisle is worth a look too, domestic and imported, with the odd oddity like coffee-infused beer turning up.
It's a hypermarket, so groceries, household stuff, clothing and electronics all sit under the same roof. The grocery section has been redesigned recently and looks a lot smarter than it used to, and the basement food court is a cheap, quick lunch if you're mid-errand. Two caveats. Prices sit roughly where 7-Eleven does, which means smaller local shops and some rival chains will undercut you on a basic shop. And if you want speciality coffee beans or good tea, the choice thins out fast.

The best place to buy souvenirs. Big C is a quite famous super market chain in Thailand and I have been to some of their shops. This is by far the biggest Big C store in my experience. Plenty kind of items are available in reasonable prices even for locals. No reason not to come here if you are traveler who have lots of friends, colleagues and families in your living place.
Large department store with wide choice that is bit better than average Lotus or 7-Eleven, but some more gourmet items like natural coffee beans or tea are limited in choice. Great beer selection, dome unusual tastes like coffee-infused beer:) Prices are on par with 7-Eleven and bit higher than Lotus or something local like Supercheap.
When I visited at the end of December, the entire building was undergoing renovation. The grocery section had been redesigned to resemble Central, and it looked very impressive. The basement food court has also moved away from its former dark and dull atmosphere. I’m looking forward to a complete transformation.

Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
Claim Your VAT Refund
Spend 2,000+ THB at a single store displaying 'VAT Refund for Tourists' signs, get a yellow form at the register, and claim 7% VAT back at the airport. It adds up fast on bigger purchases.
