Central Department Store Phuket
Part of the larger Central Phuket complex, this department store is one of the island's most established retail destinations, offering a well-curated mix of local and international brands across dedicated sections for men's and women's fashion, children's products, homeware, and accessories. It functions as a genuine one-stop shopping experience rather than a casual market browse, with a clean, organised layout that makes it easy to navigate even for first-time visitors. The atmosphere is modern and air-conditioned, typical of a well-run Thai department store — family-friendly, tidy, and staffed by helpful assistants. Beyond shopping, the complex includes food options and massage services, making it a practical stop for cruise excursion groups and independent travellers alike. The food court draws particular praise from visitors looking to sample Thai cuisine between shopping sessions. Open every day from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, the centre keeps consistent hours throughout the week, which makes it easy to plan around. Weekday afternoons tend to be quieter for those who prefer a more relaxed shopping environment, while evenings and weekends attract larger crowds. The air conditioning offers genuine relief from Phuket's heat and humidity, making it a sensible indoor option during the hottest hours of the day. Visitors arriving by tour group or private transport will find the location on Vichitsongkram Road in Wichit accessible from several parts of the island.

Visitor Reviews
I had a great shopping experience at Central Department Store. The place is clean, well-organised and easy to navigate. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially at the billing counter. Good variety of products and reasonable prices. Overall, a very pleasant visit and I would definitely come again
A well curated selection of brands both local and international find its home here in Phuket’s most beloved department store. Some really good areas for men, women, homeware and even for children. One of our Sunday traditions is coming here even just for window shopping.
Great shopping experience here. Stop here from the Genting Dream excursion tour. The Thai food was nice and the massage is superb. Wonderful time in Phuket. #centraldepartmentstore

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
