Aquaria Phuket
Billed as Thailand's largest aquarium, Aquaria Phuket sits on the B1 level of Central Phuket Foresta shopping mall and offers an accessible, climate-controlled encounter with marine life from tropical waters. The attraction is particularly well-suited to families with children, featuring themed exhibits, live aquatic species, and periodic shows, though visitors should note that the shows are geared toward a younger audience. An upstairs section adds some variety beyond the main aquarium floor. In terms of scale, the facility is relatively compact — most visitors move through the core exhibits in around 30 to 60 minutes. The ambience is a genuine highlight, with considered lighting and background music creating an immersive atmosphere that elevates the experience beyond a standard display. Sea life is plentiful throughout the tanks, and the setting provides welcome relief from Phuket's heat and humidity, making it a practical choice on rainy or overcast days. Ticket prices run approximately 1,250 Baht per person, which some visitors consider slightly steep relative to the size of the attraction. Purchasing tickets in advance online is recommended to avoid queues at the door. Since the aquarium is housed within a large shopping mall, it is easy to combine the visit with dining or retail options elsewhere in the complex. Weekday visits typically offer a less crowded experience.

Visitor Reviews
Aquaria Phuket is the largest aquarium in Thailand, featuring an underwater water world. The cost is approximately 1,250 Baht, and purchasing tickets in advance is recommended to skip the queues and save time. The facility houses a diverse collection of both water and forest rare species. It took about 2+ hours to complete the tour, and each species has its own description board. Getting to know them and watching them is a truly rewarding experience.
Aquaria Phuket turned out to be a genuinely enjoyable experience. Yes, the tickets are slightly over-priced, but once you step inside, the ambience, lighting, and background music really elevate the entire visit. The exhibits are well-designed, and you get to see a wide variety of sea creatures up close. Walking through the aquarium made me pause and reflect on just how much life exists in this world, most of which we never get to see. It’s a reminder that we’re just one small part of a vast, diverse planet filled with incredible species. The place is well-maintained and family-friendly. If you're in Phuket and enjoy nature or marine life, it’s definitely worth a visit — just be prepared for the price tag. Overall, a solid 4/5 and a memorable experience.
It was overall okay, the show was comically underwhelming, more of a kids attraction. The aquarium itself was buzzing with sea life, but that's about it. I was more interested with the upstairs section which had arachnids and reptiles! Also, it's much cheaper to pre-book a visit to this place online that by doing in at the location itself.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
