Thai Cooking Class Phuket by Tony
Thai Cooking Class Phuket by Tony offers an immersive, hands-on introduction to Thai cuisine at a residential kitchen in the Wichit area of Phuket. Classes are led by Chef Tony and Chef Ann, both of whom are praised by visitors for their ability to break down complex recipes into clear, approachable steps while keeping the atmosphere engaging and relaxed. The experience often begins with a visit to a local food market, where guests learn to identify and select the fresh ingredients that give Thai cooking its distinctive character before returning to the kitchen to cook. Participants prepare multiple classic Thai dishes during a session and sit down to eat what they have made, combining genuine culinary education with a satisfying meal. The class sizes tend to be small — sometimes just two people — which allows for personalised instruction and a more intimate experience than larger group cooking schools typically offer. The setting at Phanason Residence keeps the atmosphere informal and welcoming, suitable for all skill levels including complete beginners. Good to know: Booking in advance through the class website is strongly recommended, as slots fill quickly and smaller group sizes mean availability can be limited. Confirming any dietary requirements at the time of booking is advisable. The venue lists open hours across the week, but class schedules are best confirmed directly through phuketthaicookingclass.com. Wear comfortable, casual clothing and closed-toe shoes, as the session involves active kitchen work around heat sources.

Visitor Reviews
One of the best things we did in Phuket! We joined Thai Cooking Class Phuket by Tony (with Ann) we were the only two who booked that slot, so it ended up being just the two of us — which made the experience even more special. Ann was the absolute highlight: super friendly, funny, and incredibly skilled. She explained everything step by step and made the whole class feel relaxed and almost family-like. The local market visit was genuinely authentic — Ann showed us so many ingredients, told us about life in Thailand, and even treated us to local sweets. It honestly felt like being shown around by a favourite aunt. The cooking studio was spotless and very hygienic. We cooked Tom Yum & Tom Kha, Massaman & Panang curry, Pad Thai (one vegetarian and one with shrimp), and mango sticky rice — everything tasted amazing. One of the best meals we had in Thailand. We’d come back anytime and can recommend this class to everyone visiting Phuket!
Thai Cooking by Chef Tony in Phuket was hands down one of the highlights of our trip! Chef Tony has an incredible gift for simplifying what can feel like complex Thai recipes into clear, easy-to-follow steps. In just a few hours, we went from total beginners to confidently preparing multiple authentic dishes from scratch. He broke down each ingredient, explained the balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy (the heart of Thai cuisine!), and made sure everyone felt comfortable at every step. What we loved most was how he turned what could have been intimidating into something fun, relaxed, and totally doable. The class was interactive, informative, and full of flavor—literally. We left not only with a full stomach but with real skills we can use at home. If you’re in Phuket and want an authentic, hands-on experience that’s both educational and enjoyable, Chef Tony’s class is a must. Highly recommend!
We had an absolutely amazing experience at this cooking class! My fiancé and I joined Tony and his team, and they did an outstanding job from start to finish. The local market visit was such a highlight — we learned so much about the ingredients and Thai culture before even stepping into the kitchen. It made the whole experience feel authentic and immersive. We cooked four different dishes, and every single one was better than the last. There was so much food, we could barely finish it all — but we didn’t want to stop eating because everything tasted incredible! Tony and his team were welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the class both fun and easy to follow. It felt like cooking with friends rather than attending a formal class. We will be back :)

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
