Island Escape Burasari

4.2(1,852 reviews)

You get to this one by boat, and that single fact shapes the whole stay. Coconut Island sits just off Phuket's east coast, close enough that the transfer is quick, far enough that the resort strips don't reach you. Guests are met at the pier, then driven across by buggy. If the idea of leaving the property every evening appeals to you, book somewhere else. This place assumes you'll stay put.

The pool access rooms get the loudest praise: modern, spacious, a private patio with the water right there, a big shower, and aircon that actually works. Families do well here too, mostly because the beach is clean and calm enough to let kids loose on. Three restaurants on site, including an Italian one with a view worth lingering over, so nobody's stuck eating the same thing twice. Several guests mention staff by name, which tells you something about how the service lands.

High season around Chinese New Year gets busy by island standards, so if you want the place near-empty, come outside it. A walk or a bike ride into the local area is worth the effort.

Stayed from 3 to 5 November 2025 Room type: Deluxe Pool Access Location: Island Escape by Burasari – Coconut Island We visited as part relaxation and part inspection trip since we run a travel agency, and honestly this resort exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived at the pier everything was perfectly organized. The boat transfer was smooth and easy. Once we reached the island, a buggy was waiting for us and the driver, Mr. Night, was extremely polite, friendly and professional. He even gave us an easy way to contact him anytime we needed to go to the restaurant or infinity pool. Within 5 minutes he was always at our door. Check-in was very smooth. They had sent us an email before arrival offering online check-in, so we completed it in advance. When we arrived, the process took less than 10 minutes and our luggage was already delivered to the villa. Very well organized. The Deluxe Pool Access villa was simply amazing. Two levels, direct access to the pool, strong air conditioning everywhere (6 AC units in total), large TV in the living room and another one in the bedroom. The lighting system and electric curtains were very impressive. Even the bathroom had an electric curtain that opens to a private backyard garden. The technology in the villa is on another level. Breakfast was truly 5-star quality. Wide variety, everything fresh. We also had lunch and dinner at the resort and the food was very good. Ordering is very easy through QR code, they call to confirm and deliver quickly. The infinity pool is beautiful with great views and nice drinks at the bar. There are restaurants and a lounge nearby outside the resort as well. The team was very responsive by email even before arrival. They answered all my questions about food menu and what is available on the island since it’s a secondary island. They were transparent and helpful. That level of communication is rare. One very honest note: One evening we left the balcony door open after swimming and two large flying insects entered (because of us leaving it open). We called room service and they came immediately with proper equipment and handled it professionally. The spray smell was a bit strong afterwards but they solved the issue. Also, a small gecko appeared inside the villa. This is very common in tropical areas and personally it didn’t bother me at all, but it might surprise some guests. I would recommend increasing preventive fumigation around villas before guest arrival, just to maintain the ultra-luxury standard they aim for. They also prepared a lovely “Happy Honeymoon” decoration for us which was a very sweet touch. Overall rating from me: 5/5 We will definitely recommend this resort to our clients and friends, and we would love to come back again.

I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews this resort has been getting, because our experience has been absolutely fantastic. The room with pool access is very modern, beautifully designed, spacious and having direct pool access with our own little patio was amazing. The shower is massive, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and overall the room felt luxurious and relaxing, with great aircon. The staff here are another highlight. Every single person we’ve interacted with has been super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely accommodating. You really feel taken care of from the moment you arrive. The food has also been great. There’s a big variety available, especially at breakfast. The buffet is huge and offers something for everyone. Room service is also very affordable, which was a pleasant surprise. What truly makes this place special, though, is the setting. The resort is completely surrounded by beautiful nature and greenery, creating such a lovely atmosphere. It really feels like a little paradise and makes the whole experience even more memorable. We’re genuinely sad that today is our last day here. We’ve had such an amazing stay and would highly recommend this resort to anyone considering it. Don’t let the negative reviews put you off, this place is absolutely worth booking.

My wife and I enjoyed our 2-night stay in mid-February. The room was comfortable and exceptionally clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful if needed. We ate at two different restaurants and the food was consistently great. The island was a little busy as should be expected during high season and the Chinese New Year holiday, but the staff did a really nice job of managing it all. It’s a great place to relax, and I would definitely recommend taking a walk or bike into the local area to try a restaurant or meet the very friendly people there. There’s plenty of water activities and trips available too, but it’s not ideal for snorkeling if that’s an interest. I’ll look forward to returning someday for sure.
