COMO Point Yamu

4.8(1,414 reviews)

Perched at the tip of the Yamu promontory on Phuket's quieter northeast coast, COMO Point Yamu is a luxury hillside resort that trades the island's busier tourist corridors for seclusion, elevated sea views, and a distinctly refined atmosphere. The property features chic rooms, suites, and villas — many with private pools — designed to take full advantage of its elevated coastal setting. Guests consistently highlight the warmth and attentiveness of the staff, with personalised butler service available and a culture of genuine hospitality that sets it apart from larger resort properties. Facilities include a full-service spa, multiple swimming pools, and a restaurant offering a broad dining menu with a breakfast buffet that draws particular praise from returning guests. The resort also offers wellness classes, making it well suited to travellers looking to combine relaxation with a more active or restorative stay. The relatively remote location on the promontory means the surrounding area is peaceful and unhurried, though it does require planning for excursions further afield. Good to know: the location on Phuket's northeast coast places it away from the island's main beach strips, so it suits those prioritising privacy and retreat over easy beach-hopping. Guests who prefer to stay largely within the resort will find plenty to occupy them, but those wanting frequent off-site access should factor in travel times. Advance booking is recommended, particularly during the high season between November and April.

Visitor Reviews

We had the most wonderful stay at Como Point Yamu! This place is truly special, beautiful in every way and away from the busy tourist areas, which made it feel like a real escape. It’s a great place for families too. The hotel itself is stunning, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Chris the hotel manager and a barman (I can’t remember his name), were particularly fantastic and really made our experience memorable. Everyone was so accommodating with any requests we had. The food was delicious with a great mix of Western and Thai options, so there was always something for everyone. The spa was excellent, and we loved having access to the 24-hour gym and sauna (that sauna was honestly a lifesaver!). We also did a private fitness class with Muna who completely understood what we were looking for and delivered an amazing workout. The room amenities were good, though I'd love to see some additional wellness products added such as a body scrub from the spa would be a nice touch. Also some more local Thai snacks and drinks in the fridge would have been great! Just one small thing, they seemed to run out of coconuts quite often, which happened several days in a row. Minor detail and probably for the better to control our coconut addiction. Overall, we absolutely loved our time here and would highly recommend Como Point Yamu to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful retreat in Phuket.

Located at the top of the hill at the end of the Yamu promontory, this hotel is a real gem. The friendliness of the staff, the views, the rooms, pools, spa, classes, everything is perfect. Plenty delicious cocktails at the bar (don't miss the happy hour from 5 to 6pm and from 8.30 to 9.30pm for 2 for 1 cocktails and drinks), 2 to 3 pm free Popsicles, yoga classes, outdoors spa pools, steamtoom and sauna. How not to mention the view? One side gets gorgeous sunrises the other breathtaking sunsets over Yamu bay. Plenty fun too with a snooker table, ping pong, table football, darts and three Playstation set ups in the recreation room. Our room was super spacious, beautifully decorated in white and blue. Large super queen beds, ample bathroom with shower and bath tub and double sink. Breakfast is a delight with the longest buffet I have ever seen. Every day specials are available. It's a real joy. I cannot wait to be back Como Point Yamu!

Stayed 3 nights. Among the best hotel experiences in Thailand. This is my third visit and surprisingly the hotel actually got noticeably better in many respects than my first two quite long ago. First, the food is back to its best. Breakfast is now my favorite in the country. Prepared on the healthy side to suit hotel’s wellness brand, it perfectly fit my preference. Feel the care and attention in the menu and preparation of dishes. Even small items are delicious and prepared with attention. Credit to the F&B team. Now the property, it is extremely well maintained after years of operation. Never notice any sign of time in the hotel room and facilities. Service is smooth as to be expected from a 5 stars. Overall, I will revisit next time in Phuket. Without a doubt.

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts

Book Shoulder Season

May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates

Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive

Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
