Canary Guesthouse
Compare prices
Canary Guesthouse sits along the river in Pai's Mae Hi area, offering a relaxed base for travellers exploring this laid-back northern Thai town. The property's standout feature is its Deluxe River rooms, which come with private balconies looking directly over the water — a genuinely peaceful setting that guests consistently highlight as a reason to stay. A terrace and on-site restaurant add to the ease of settling in after a day out. The location is one of the guesthouse's strongest practical advantages. A bamboo bridge across the river connects the property to Pai Walking Street, putting the town's food stalls, bars, and shops within a five to ten minute walk. The atmosphere is low-key and down-to-earth, suiting independent travellers who want comfort without pretension rather than a polished resort experience. Worth knowing before booking: room quality varies, and some guests in standard rooms have noted basic construction, noisy air conditioning, and occasional odour issues in bathrooms. Opting for a Deluxe River View room appears to deliver a noticeably better experience, with the balcony and river outlook making the stay. Booking in advance through platforms such as Agoda is straightforward, with check-in reported as quick and efficient. Pai is busiest between November and February during the cool season, so securing a preferred room type early is advisable during this period.

Visitor Reviews
I highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Pai. We booked through Agoda, and the check-in was completely hassle-free—quick, professional, and efficient. The Location: The property is perfectly situated within easy walking distance to the Pai Night Market. It’s close enough to enjoy the action but tucked away enough for peace. One heads-up for drivers: the road access is a bit tricky as you have to navigate some very tight alleys. Just take it slow, and you’ll be fine! The Room: The room equipment is top-notch. I was particularly impressed by the bed; the plush pillows and mattress are incredibly comfortable, offering a great night's sleep after a day of exploring. The Service: What truly sets this place apart is the superb service. The staff are genuinely helpful and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Pros: Seamless Agoda booking/check-in. Incredible sleep quality (best pillows!). Short walk to the night market. Friendly, attentive staff. Cons: Access road is narrow; be careful if you have a large vehicle.
We spent three nights at the Canary Guesthouse in Pai. Our Deluxe River room had a balcony overlooking the river, with the water flowing right in front of us. It was peaceful and relaxing, even though it’s very close to the walking street. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were attentive and caring, and they made sure we had a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we’re in Pai.
Very nice guest house, we really loved it! The location is perfect, just a 5–10 minute walk to Pai Walking Street. The rooms were alright and the toilet was quite spacious too. You can even see the Pai River from the resort, which makes the stay even more relaxing. They also have a 24/7 tea and coffee station right in front of the lobby, which was pretty great. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!
