Compare prices
The 5ive Homestay sits on Phaholyothin Road in the heart of Chiang Rai, offering budget-friendly accommodation that punches well above its price point. Rooms are thoughtfully decorated and well-maintained, with several featuring balconies that add a touch of comfort to the stay. Despite being a hostel with shared bathrooms, the overall feel leans closer to a small guesthouse or boutique hotel, making it a solid choice for travellers who want affordability without sacrificing cleanliness or atmosphere. Guests consistently highlight the quality of the shared facilities, noting powerful showers, clean toilets, and well-maintained communal spaces that feel private and quiet. The staff receive particular praise for being friendly and genuinely accommodating, contributing to a welcoming environment. The central location puts guests within walking distance of Chiang Rai's key attractions, making it a convenient base for exploring the city and its surrounds. Bookings can be made directly through the property's online reservation system via their website. As a smaller, well-reviewed property with limited rooms, booking in advance is advisable, especially during the cooler high season months between November and February when Chiang Rai sees its heaviest tourist traffic.

Visitor Reviews
We spent 3 nights here, very happy with everything. The rooms are so nice, really clean and nicely decorated - felt like a good hotel room. The shared bathroom was conveniently located, also very clean and tidy. There’s a communal space with tables and chairs with a kettle, microwave, cutlery, crockery, etc. to use. The lady on reception was very nice and super friendly. We highly recommend staying here!! The only fault was the view from the window, it’s completely blocked off by a huge billboard so hardly any natural light comes in.
The room with the balcony was especially lovely bright, spacious, and just perfect for anyone looking for a solid place to stay on a budget. The staff was exceptionally friendly and truly accommodating. We even extended our stay for a few more days because we enjoyed it so much. The shared bathroom was always clean, and the shower areas are surprisingly spacious. Overall, a very pleasant stay highly recommended for travelers looking for comfort without overspendin.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Did just the job, nice clean and spacious room with good quiet aircon. Shared showers were powerful. Shared toilets/sinks were nice and clean and well-maintained. Inside was quiet when we came, only one other person staying which was peaceful. A small bit of noise from outside due to being on a busy road but this is a small gripe. Staff were friendly and location is great, right near 711/ night market. Would definitely recommend.
