SO GOOD AIRLINE SERVICE AND TRAVEL
Based on Jetyod Road in central Chiang Rai, this well-regarded travel agency handles both flight arrangements and guided tours across northern Thailand and beyond. It has built a strong reputation among independent travellers for its slow boat packages along the Mekong River to Luang Prabang, with reviewers praising the seamless border crossing experience into Laos and the end-to-end organisation of multi-day journeys. Local day tours are equally popular, covering highlights such as the Golden Triangle, Wat Rong Khun, and a mix of northern Thai cultural sites. The agency operates with a team of knowledgeable local guides who handle private and group tours alike. Guides like Ping and Whan have been singled out by visitors for their punctuality, helpfulness, and local insight, including recommendations for food stops along the way. While English proficiency among guides can vary, travellers report that communication is generally manageable and the overall experience remains well-organised. Good to know: The agency is open every day of the week from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, making it accessible even for last-minute bookings. For slow boat departures, early hotel pickups around 5:00 AM are standard, so confirm logistics clearly when booking. Visiting the office in person or checking their website at sogoodtravel-cr.com before arrival allows travellers to compare package options and lock in availability, particularly during the busy season between November and February.

Visitor Reviews
Went on the Temples tour and very happy with the tour. Guide was nice and helpful, her English wasn’t very good but I was able to understand most of it. Also Google Translate really helped with all the Thai texts so I can understand most of it myself. The tour covered a lot and really worth it. Highly recommend this tour to anyone travel to here. We were exhausted with so much to see but very happy when we finished around 6pm. Will recommend to my friends when they travel here! Updated: luxury boat tour - the process is very good with people helping every step of the tour since I don’t speak Thai or Lao. The boat experience is very nice. The 1st stop was rough since the walk was uphill and slippery because of the rain . The other 2 are better since it’s more concrete to steps on. The hotel at Pakben was pretty bad since it’s under remodeling so you walked through dust and stuffs. The road leading to the hotel is muddy because of the rain. It’s much better if you can book your own hotel to get a better experience with the whole trip.
The slow boat experience was seamless. Everything was taken care of and we go through the loas boarder super easily and smooth. Day 1 was 7 hours on the boat Day 2 was 6 hours on the boat We even got a sandwich and water before boarding the boat on day 1! Don't look anywhere else. This is the number 1 best provider for the slow boat. A good price, professional service! 5 STARS! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Booked a last minute private tour, and we got Ping. He was super punctual and knowledgeable, and assisted us with so many queries and incessant stops for coffee. Great local food recommendations and brought us to a local family restaurant that we might never have known! Gave us good tips and locations to see when we are travelling onwards to Chiangmai too! Wonderful experience!

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
