Gold Jane -โกเจนก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อ/หมู
Gold Jane is a Thai noodle shop on Phaholyothin Road in central Chiang Rai, drawing locals and travellers alike with its speciality beef and pork noodle soups. The kitchen is particularly known for its pour-over beef noodles, where a rich, hearty broth is ladled over wide noodles and finished with fried garlic, green onions, and celery — a combination that has earned consistent praise from visitors. A spicy pork noodle option is also available for those seeking more heat, though reviewers note it is genuinely very spicy. The atmosphere is relaxed and unfussy, with friendly staff and an approachable setting that suits a casual evening meal. The owner is noted for being especially welcoming and willing to assist guests navigating the menu, which is primarily in Thai with limited English translations. Some hot pot options are also on offer alongside the signature soups. Gold Jane opens daily from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, making it suited to dinner rather than lunch. Given its evening-only hours and growing local following, arriving earlier in the session may help avoid a wait. Non-Thai-speaking visitors are advised to check the Facebook page before visiting for any menu updates, and to come prepared with a translation app to make ordering easier.

Visitor Reviews
What a treat! We got the pour over beef noodles with wide noodles and it was amazing! The brooth is really hearty and full of fried garlic, green onions and celery. The beer is absolutely delicious, so tinder and sweet. The meal was amazing and not too heavy at all. Also, a big portion! We also had the hibiscus juice, so refreshing and not too sweet!🌺
Great pork noodle soup, note the spicy one is very very spicy but we were warned! Delicious and lovely spot to eat in.
We had a really good hot pot here and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Great place to visit.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
