Visitor Reviews
Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort, Thailand Our stay at Le Méridien Chiang Rai was truly exceptional. The hotel is absolutely stunning. The open spaces, wide green lawns, and beautifully maintained gardens create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. It feels like a high-quality resort where you can truly slow down and breathe. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable, and elegantly designed, offering a wonderful sense of calm and comfort. The service is outstanding — professional, attentive, and genuinely warm. Breakfast was excellent, with a rich and high-quality selection. We dined at both on-site restaurants — the Thai restaurant and the Italian restaurant — and both were fantastic. The food was delicious, and the overall dining experience was superb. I also had a massage at the spa, which was absolutely wonderful and added greatly to the overall experience. I would happily return to Chiang Rai just to stay at this hotel again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a perfect combination of nature, tranquility, and top-level comfort.
Our stay at Le Méridien Chiang Rai was exceptional. The hotel is beautifully integrated into the landscape, with expansive green areas, a calm river setting and a sense of space that immediately slows you down. The rooms are very comfortable, well maintained and quiet, with excellent beds and thoughtful details. Common areas are spacious and inviting, especially the pool area and riverside paths, which are perfect for long, unhurried walks. Breakfast is a highlight: varied, well executed and enjoyed in a serene setting, with both Western and Thai options prepared with care. Dining overall was consistently good, with balanced flavors and quality ingredients. Service deserves special mention — professional, warm and attentive without being intrusive. Everything runs smoothly, from check-in to daily interactions. This is a hotel that works equally well for relaxation and longer stays, offering comfort, landscape and calm in a refined but unpretentious way. An excellent base for experiencing Chiang Rai at a slower, more thoughtful pace.
The Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort is absolutely beautiful and located right along the river. You arrive to a grandeur sight and the nicest staff. The lobby, pool, and other common areas are spacious and well maintained. The rooms are modern, gorgeous, and very clean. I had a room with double rooms that were very comfortable. The bathroom is large and cleaned very well. I really enjoyed the view and the balcony that you can go out and sit. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the morning which was complimentary with my Marriott status. Definitely a great bonus. Delicious and plentiful restaurant options within the hotel. Will definitely be staying here again. Now for my standard comments. Location is very clean and well-kept. One thing to note is that it is right on the river so there are mosquitoes and little lizards everywhere. The lizards are on the walls and sometimes hover outside and around the guest room doors. I was a little nervous but thankfully none had gotten into my room. Still a fabulous resort and would come back!
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
